The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I think I might scoop it but I have a feeling it will not hold my interest.. I only buy digital when I know ima like and play the game for awhile

Will wait for this to drop down to $30.
The 1st one was horrible.

I couldn't get past the first act.

The web slinging was a disgrace to the spiderman franchise.

I promptly played spiderman 2 to forget about this game.

Uncharted 4 Game Director Justin Richmond Leaves Naughty Dog
Joins League of Legends developer Riot Games.
by Mitch Dyer MARCH 27, 2014

Justin Richmond, who was working on Uncharted PS4 as game director, has left developer Naughty Dog.

"I have in fact made the decision to leave Naughty Dog," Richmond told IGN. "I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward. On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can't wait to be a part of."

Previously, Richmond oversaw Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' multiplayer and worked as game director on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. He had been with Naughty Dog since 2008.

This news comes shortly after creative director Amy Hennig's departure from Naughty Dog earlier this month. Sony specifically noted the duo's involvement when it revealed Uncharted PS4 in 2013.

Sony Worldwide Studios' has been having a rough month, with numerous layoffs and other departures across the company in March, 2014.

We've contacted Sony and Naughty Dog for comment.

Something tells me these developers were courted elsewhere. Somewhere there has to be a super team forming consisting of developers from Sony Santa Monica, Evolution Studios, Guerilla Games, SCE London, Naughty Dog, and other AAA development studios.

I didn't see a thread for the game so I decided to put this here.

This looks like a more inclusive version of a GTA game but with even more possibilities it seems

why aiden look like he'd flash his .... at you if you walked past him on the street?

Better question is, why are there so many Rob Ford avy's? :lol

Some of it can be attributed to head-hunting. Companies looking for proven talent.

But most of these departures seem to be before they have a job to go to...

It's not Sony specific. It's just the nature of the industry. To put this into perspective, go back to 2010-11 and look at all the industry shake-ups from full studio closures to practically everyone leaving Infitity Ward to for Respawn. This happens every 4 years just because of projects ending and people getting burnt out and wanting to move on with their lives to a new project or start their own studio's.

It is concerning that you're seeing this happen mid-development with a franchise series. However, I'll re-iterate that this is nothing new. There's plenty of important people who leave projects during development that don't get front page coverage on GiantBomb, Kotaku, or IGN.

On the Sony layoffs...

Connecting dots where they don't need to be connected.

Stig and his team spent almost 100 million dollars on a game that failed every QA test that took. The game sucked. They ****canned the game and a lot of the people involved. They offered stig a spot on barlog's project - he didn't want to go from game director to something lesser so he quit.

This makes sense, right? ****** game, money wasted, people fired, head guy leaves out of ego? I mean that all makes sense.

Amy Hennig has creative differences about the direction that UC4 should go in. Egos swell, she leaves. She's happy, she will make another studio much better when she gets there. Justin Richmond, an ally of Hennig's, gets an offer he can't refuse from Riot. He leaves.

These things happen. Naughty Dog is going to be fine. UC4 will still be awesome. Riot will be better with the pickup of Richmond and whoever gets Hennig will be better off. The sky isn't falling.

Guerilla Cambridge is working on a vita game that is **** and won't sell. They slim down as they retool for another project.

Again - this isn't new. This happens a lot.

The director of Driveclub doesn't deliver the game on time. Given more time the game still needs work. He is replaced.

Wouldn't you replace him? Wouldn't you ****can stig's project that cost them almost 100 mil and had nothing of value to show for it? In fact they should have done it two years ago. The fact they let it go this far is a testament to how much they believed in him after GoW 3.

And all of this is happening before the fiscal year ends. Is sony trimming fat? Of course. Sony corporation is not in a great spot. So they are tightening up a bit. But a lot of people are connecting dots that don't need to be connected. Hennig/Richmond is about creative differences and ego. Stig is about wasted money and time. Col Rogers (driveclub) is about failing to deliver. Taken on their own they all make sense. Combine them together and you get glenn beck with a chalkboard.

And Jack Tretton was about money and inability to move up. He will make more money and have more power somewhere else - something Sony simply could not offer him. **** happens.

It's the same with the xbox department guys. People move around. People leave for other companies. **** happens[/quote]

and why do you guys like the 3rd power in infamous so much? the melee is slow as s***, the dash is limited (unlike the 2nd power), and its harder to find places to drain.

Putting my response in a spoiler since there are people who don't want to know about the powers until they get them
The melee is slower but it's strong as ****. Those two hits take out most enemies in the game

The dash isn't infinite like the second one but who cares? You can ******* fly :lol. I feel like the dash for neon is really only good on the ground. In the air you run at a downward angle which defeats the purpose of sticking to rooftops (not that you have to, but I prefer it)

It isn't really that hard to find power sources for it. You can use more than just the satellites. The t.vs around the city work too. It's not like the last power which you can only drain from downed enemies (which makes no sense considering there's concrete EVERYWHERE)

Add to that the fact that you can turn invisible and call in angels to distract enemies and fight for you. Plus the missiles you shoot with video place a target on the enemy that they can't get away from. IMO the 3rd power is by far the best

It is hilarious he says this when Gaf makes even more ridiculous stories when MS closes a studio or someone leaves. :lol

Perfect :D
