Exactly. Plus you gotta realize Big's mom is from Jamaica, so her frame of reference is a little different. A 2bd apartment in Bed Stuy was nice compared to the conditions she probably lived in Jamacia. They had enough to pay the bills, obviously dude wasn't starving, but they weren't well off either.
