That's almost like a "duh" statement. Last time we really saw a graphical jump was PS2 to PS3. Everything since then has been pretty incremental.
Former PlayStation boss says "You're not going to see another PS1 to PS2 jump in performance," and believes we're nearing "a point where the console becomes irrelevant"

Man, look at those sports titles alone. Kids don't even understand what it was like to have competition between development teams for games.
2004 was a great year, but that was routine for us back then. Just studios putting out banger complete games without patches and/or cash grabs. Trying to really push genres forward.

One thing I’ll say is props to M$ for hanging in there 20+ years, four console generations. Sony only been there one more console generation. And mainly because they got jilted by Nintendo who resurrected the console market.
