Ohhh so that's why Sof Sole doesn't recommend spraying on patent leather...

Good day today. Copped infrareds and they just had my size when I called.

Randomly went into footlocker today and Jimmy Jazz. Jimmy Jazz had squat, so I wandered into Footlocker. They shockingly had Red Penny's and Knicks foams sitting. I tried on the Knicks foams, they're meh on my feet. I wasn't too impressed. What irked me the most were the footlocker employees. As soon as I tried them on, I heard, "you need those in your life" from two employees AND the security guard. In my mind, I'm like ****, I don't need y'all telling me what I need. I just wanted to try them on and feel the material. It's such a lazy way to sell. I guess the majority of their customers don't have a brain. I definitely felt like my intelligence was insulted the way they said that. Maybe it was just me. Then after explaining the inferior quality of the newer foams compared to the older foams (I just had to break it down, they were acting like they didn't want to hear it, but truth is truth. I'm not spending $250 in a new foam FOH), I talked to one of the employees about the potential value of the Knicks foams once they dry up. I told her they would likely be around $400 and up once they are scarce. She disagreed saying that people don't want them. I told her that's now because there are other options at the moment. Once the holidays are over, it's a done deal on those. I then brought up the metallic purple foams, which I haven't really seen for less than $375 on the resale market. She claims to have seen them for $300. I told her that doesn't seem likely for a DS pair. She told me to pull up FlightClub on my phone, I show her and there are the foams for $375, not $300. Situations like this bugs me about talking to employees in stores that don't know anything, then try to tell me about "needing a pair in my life". Blech, that's my rant for the day. Cool story bro...

Only issue there is if flight club has em for 375 they're most likely actually valued at 300

Gonna bring my Chicago 1's to the court on my next game for good luck

Have they released those New Jack 90's? They look good to ball in

Some forgotten rare kicks that I personally like!

I'm trying to ID a pair of Converse I had years ago and cant find anything.

Here's what I know:

They released somewhere between 1997-1999

They had "React" gel cushioning in the heel. It was visible on the side of the midsole and on the sole in kind of long rectangular shapes.

They seemed to be heavily influenced by the Jordan XI IE lows. They had similar mesh portions extending along the upper, although I think they were padded underneath, not exposed like the IEs.

(I had 2 pairs) One was a blue patent leather base with white leather and black mesh accents (Visible "React" cushioning was blue on these) . The Blue patent was a royal color and very shiny. I think the patent had a metallic flake to it. The other pair was a dark grey synthetic base with white and orange accents (visible "React" cushioning was orange on these) .

The outsole had a unique "Chuck Taylor" and Star logo stitched into the arch. The whole logo including the background was stitched in. If I remember correctly the outsole was a modified diamond waffle pattern, similar to those found on classic Chucks, but with a visible rectangular react pocket in the heel.

If anyone has thinks they know what I'm talking about or has some old magazine pics with React Converse shoes, I'd be most appreciative. :)

^ Nah , it wasn't those.

I scour through ebay once a week trying to find these, but nothing ever turns up. I'd settle for a damn pic at this point :lol

I need to find Carmine's DS for a Christmas gift and the resell prices are :x

Maybe to you, but lots of these are dope to me, honestly I'd buy some of them if retroed right and with the right colors.

One day I will try and make my own Visvim FBT spinoff.
