the thread about nothing...

10k , made that back and that’s literally it . Club hit capacity . At an average of even $40 per head , should of took home 40K.... the owners know they ****ed us and want to meet again but I’m drained.
That dude gets 10k? Wow. I used to throw parties and honestly the club you dealt with was unprofessional as hell for that. You could sue depending on your contract with the club. That’s a tough situation but at least you broke even. Had friends that lost the shirt off their back with bad events.

But seems like you packed the place so you did something right. Maybe better luck on the next venture.

How does booking a artist work ? Like how much does it cost to rent out the building or do you look for a club that sells liquor so you can capitalize more or it doesn’t matter.. I’m thinking about booking an artist here in my city

This business always seemed shady AF to me.
At the very least, you didn't operate at a loss.

BK whats up with yall lately man :smh:

Aye chill son I'm from brooklyn. Nyc mayor handle the k2 drug by banning and selling the drug at bodegas. You get fined and s 5-10 year jail sentence.

New York City as a whole needs to come together a figure the k2 epidemic before it gets out of hand, like the 80s crack era....and that was bad.

I knew a cat who did k2 and regeret doing the drug...he thought it was like doing weed but ended up in the mental hospital.

K2 stinks as well...I can't phatom the smell of it. Remember being in Harlem and them homeless cats were bouncing off the wall with horrible smell and the combination of the hot summer.

The board at work has everybody's names under what area they'll be working for the day. Today I was under Layoff and of course to me that sounded like I'm getting fired

Went to the supervisor and he was like "I don't think your supposed to work today.. nobody told you? It's Tuesdays through Fridays for you now" so not only did I waste time and money to get here (got there at 3:39 and clocked out by 3:45), and I'll have a day less of a paycheck from now on. Please let me get this new ******** job man :smh:

Booked an artist for a club here last night (hoodrich Pablo) . Club holds around 1,000 people.

Diddy sons came through (people don’t usually just come through parties in cleveland ) so that was a good look.

Packed the club out at $40-$80 a Head......

Barely made are ****in money back. How?

Because the club management and owners let 600-800 people in free. Let a certain football player alone bring in 80 people

I’m pissed . I kind If needed this money bad to get **** back on track :smh:

If you’re in contract and have clauses in place...sue. Went through the same thing when I used to do parties and club appearances.

Best thing to do is throw concerts at smaller venues. Did a Maze ft. Frankie Beverly concert and packed the house. Made a lot more than club/parties. Different type of crowd and situation.

Thought about going that route? In the future make sure it’s in the contract. Of course, owners and promoters wants free tickets: part of the game. Agree on a fixed amount and anything beyond that will fall on the promoter/owner. Tally the counts to match the numbers.

Had my back lock up during my soccer game yesterday. Nerve is pinched it is super painful. Can't turn my head to the left without shooting pain...looks like a few days of turning at the hips like a robot.

Boss is out getting married for 2.5 weeks and i am the back up while she is gone

You just blew my mind with this. Everyone trying to book rappers, then classic acts are guaranteed money...with less/no drama.

The crack epidemic had NY and LA on lockdown :smh: dont think us South FL cats made it that far. Coke was the big problem down here (basically same thing)

Exactly. Plus 30+ crowds like to dress up and spend money. Had VIP tables setup for $750. Get 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of champagne, 5 bottle of waters/5 bottle of mix sodas) of 3 party trays (Shrimp cocktails, cheese and crackers, chicken wings).

Ultimate come up.

The down side are some of those acts cost more. However, they're willing to negotiate.

O'Jays and Whispers (Packed house)
Maze twice (Packed house)
SOS Band, Eric Benet, Temptation, Eddie Levert (went in partnership with someone last year - never again - made 10K when I should have made more)

This year, going a different route.

Doing a GALA with Jeffery Osborne and a live band (doing covers) - New Orleans Cajun food buffet. Thinking on the price as we speak.
