the thread about nothing...

I agree with this fully but that is not what o got out of that short snip. When he says "I don't feel like it's work when I love it", I equate it to him saying work hard at what you love, what you are interested in and the accomplishments will come.

Maybe I am taking the video wrong?

Agreed. Don’t let it be about money.

My thing is though...and I am definitely speaking to my current life experience and would love to be wrong...responsibilities come in life that force the money to be pushed to the forefront. So while you can actually put a lot of time effort and energy into your interest, if it's not providing the income needed to sustain the responsibilities in your life then you are now in a position to do something where money is the main concern.

This is a thin line to why people always feel that they’re stuck. Being in the race, to achieve more money that will bring more responsibilities. Hamster wheel if you ask me.

At this point of my life, right now, once my daughter is off to college in 5 years, I’m selling everything, and travel and sail. Live a very minimum life. I’ll maintain my salary (job allows me to work from home 100%). Having accessible to money wont really matter to me anymore. Letting go of all those things for status purposes is futile.

As the more I travel and sail boats, the more I feel repulsive to our society rat race. Wanting more and obtaining more and yet still in the same cycle...

Material things for what? And yet I just brought a pair of SLP sneakers yesterday.

No doubt...Some force themselves into the responsibilities by buying a car they can't afford (did that) or a home. Or general debt from swipe swipe swipe.

Others get that call about your income tax being taken cuz you never paid your student loans. Some get the call that they are about to be a parent. Again, on the surface, these are things that a person does to themselves...but it is also taught that (formal) education and growing a family is supposed to be a natural process of life...how is a natural process of life forcing me to be miserable at work 60 hours a week? **** is crazy man.

I hope I can be in a position similar to yours one day...travel...learn...break away from the boxes I stare at all day. I just don't see a light anywhere near the tunnel.

Flash backs to 2007/2008 when I was broke as **** in trade school and TOO damn happy to purchase The Cool. I miss the feelings of my youth. Felt like I could run through a wall for the right situation.

Feel so dead now compared to then.

I regret not really enjoying the apex of Lupe along with some other rappers. Especially not being able to see them live during that time period

Lupe was very influential while in high school. Probably reasons why i speak in double entendre in real life when im dont want people's to understand my conversations.

But yeah that mew Drogas album is the lupe come back ive been looking for. Dont sleep on that album.
Gave it a spin last week. I do like my music a bit more "pop" then that but I was peeping the gems he was dropping.

Food n Liquor and The Cool will never be matched by him imo.

I remember when I was 18 back in '07 my homie hooked me up to help be part of the stage crew for Lupe's concert for a university and got to watch him perform for free.

Then when we got to meet him afterwards and tried to take a picture with him the camera battery died SMH

Real cool dude.

I went to trade school to be an audio engineer...I had a lot of chances to do this. Never took advantage. I was an idiot.

Feel dead! You should be feeling like running through any situation. Nothing last forever and that includes situations...

Fam, you are a man - God’s given blessing to the world. It’s yours! Cease it!

At the Kanye West Glow In the Dark concert, I was backstage and took a bottle of water from his room after he left.
I just remembered he came down here for a concert in high school and for some dumb *** reason I didnt even think about going to it. This was right after Food and Liquor dropped. I also got pissed because I found out damn near a decade later Little Brother had a performance downtown when I was in high school that I aint even know about, now I'll probably never get to see them. Even worst missed opportunity, one of the early Dunk Exchange's in DC years ago had a performance line up of Curren$y and the Cool Kids along with Big Krit and Stalley as openers. Cannot believe I missed that ****

EDIT: Forgot when the Clipse came to Gentei and Commonwealth :smh:

I spent a lot of money on concerts when I was young and even paid for ungrateful people who I no longer consider friends. Wouldn't trade it for anything though. Kids these days go see Lil Yachty and Migos. It's night and day.

Lupe is cool. I think some of his songs are a bit corny, but he's really good as a featured artist

First timer right here. Yes ! That ending was put without effort. If both were written differently a trilogy woulda been good. The red Apple cigarette model was the same French Asian cutey ?
