My wife is big into these baking/cooking shows. They have a series where its just kids competing.

To be a kid and to fail on national television has to be very challenging. They will all be better for it. Invaluable experience to have.
Much like the rest of the world, that show is just pro wrestling.

it's funny, I was JUST thinking about this the other day: how can one possibly taste something objectively?

like, are they cooking to the judges' tastes or to some nebulous Ideal Recipe? what is too much garlic on TV?

moreover, if you don't care for cilantro, and I make a dish with it...did I just lose?

...either way, yes, most competitions with resources on the line engage in cooking the books to some extent.

Not posting this to find joy in people's misfortunes. But this is pretty sad.

How you go to the stripper bowl and come out broke? QC threw 1 million dollars worth of ones that night.

**Edit**

So these ****** are flexing Bhawawawawa

I do believe all reality tv to be highly scripted. That said, when it comes to the kid baking shows, I dont think the success or failure is fake. For those kids to sit there and take that criticism in front of the world...that's gonna build character.
Why is THAT possibility of scripted TV so far fetched to you?

Not sure I understand the question? And to be clear I dont think anything is far fetched...I just dont think the failure (or success) they deal with is fake.
Explain what you think the "un-fake" (real) part of that show is.
