I still don’t see why that thread was deleted. Both BenBaller’s posts and Crux comments were made in public, it being discussed anywhere here shouldn’t be grounds to be locked especially when the one involved keeps saying “it’s all jokes”. Feels like abuse of power from one mod.

I do believe all reality tv to be highly scripted. That said, when it comes to the kid baking shows, I dont think the success or failure is fake. For those kids to sit there and take that criticism in front of the world...that's gonna build character.

it's funny, I was JUST thinking about this the other day: how can one possibly taste something objectively?
like, are they cooking to the judges' tastes or to some nebulous Ideal Recipe? what is too much garlic on TV?
moreover, if you don't care for cilantro, and I make a dish with it...did I just lose?
...either way, yes, most competitions with resources on the line engage in cooking the books to some extent.
