the thread about nothing...

completely aimless thoughts:

I'm leaving for Navy OCS next week. I'm feeling a wide variety of emotions ranging from excitement, to nervous-ness and uncertainty. I'm excited to start a new life, see now things, travel, etc. but I'm sad about leaving my life here in Atlanta behind' I'm gonna miss my friends and family alot. Life here in Georgia is all I've known since I was a kid. Sometimes I questions what my motivations are for joining but as I get closer to leaving I know I'm doing the right thing. I left a good corporation job to join the Navy, a job I enjoyed alot. I knew I had to go now or I never would. A big part of why I want to go is for the adventure. I never wanted to look back at my life when I wad 40 and say "Man, I wish I would have done that when was 24" or "I wish I would have taken this risk."

I can relate to your anxiety when I left for the military but you have to look at the bigger picture. Although I am enlisted, the military is a good gig and being nervous is a good thing, it will keep u humble through the learning processes. It's hard leaving home but trust me when I say, I was nervous about leaving Carolina but please believe, it's a whole world out there.

Good for you brotha. Getting Commissioned was the proudest day of my life. Sometimes I wish I never left. But I have two kids and a lady now so it would be tough being gone all the time.

I wish you the best of luck in your future. And thank you for serving! :Nthat

My area is slowly getting back power, not gonna lie, gonna miss cruising at 2 in the AM with no lights / the street lights on and just in silence

why are these CBS SEC games so long? Last week UGA-Florida was almost 4 hours and today's game is about to be 3 and a half

Swear its the Refs from that conference making it so long. That and it being the SEC most big companies pay mad dough for commercial spots so they have to take mandated media time outs so they get that commercial money.

I went to UGA and if you think watching these long game is bad on TV, its even worse when you're at these games. Sitting in a hot, crowded stadium when the game is stopped for a TV timeout is the worst. Also can I PM you some questions about the Navy? I have so many questions about Navy life

****** cracked my 3GS yesterday too. Went 15 months without insurance too :{
