He doesn’t have to wear those specifically. When he switched from Nike to adidas it became the “cool” brand.

Pretty sure he had something to do with it. But at the same time there was a surge in popularity with the Superstars and Adidas boost, which helped. Kanye gets credit for the Ultraboost but the NMD kind of happened organically.

Teyana Taylor had a huge sneaky hand in popularizing the slim fit track bottoms. Here collab was also fairly successful, especially for a woman at the time.

Kanye was definitely the jump start to the revival. But a few years back Adidas started marketing heavy towards teens and adults in their 20's as well. A lot of celebrities were all of a sudden seen walking around wearing Adidas out of nowhere. We may have not noticed because we don't pay that much attention to what some of these celebs wear, but the youth payed attention. Celebs + heavy marketing backed by unlimited funds = popularity.

Rihanna got ppl rocking puma. Her stuff. I even brought a pair slides. People place Beyonce on this god pedestal, but I rarely ever see ppl really support her outside of music.
Girl dress like Rihanna, get her hairstyles, buy her clothes, lingerie, makeup (which'll probably but her at a billi). I've also seen wild hand henna & lower chest tattoos b/c of her as well. People relate to Rihanna, it's similar to Kanye's influence.

Jay-Z has more clout than Kanye, but he can't sell clothes/sneaker like Kanye can. My mom even likes those Fenty Slides. Some people just have a cool factor that others don't. Kanye & Rihanna>Jay-z & Beyonce.
