You are correct! Just looked it up. The factory she worked at also happened to be in Van Nuys and the movie theatre was on Van Nuys Blvd too. Sucks she dropped out of VNHS so early but it kinda worked out in the end by getting discovered. I say kinda because we all know how her life ended.
I did not know that. Learn something new everyday. Is this anywhere near you & is the factory still there? Pretty sure it's in ruins if it's still around. Judging by her pic when she was just "Norma Jeane Dougherty" the $ & fame/attention did a number and a half on her mind & perception, sometimes being just "normal" is the better life. She died of an overdoes if I recall correctly & super young too right

Adam Sandlers movie Click is on. Remember watching it when I was just 17 & just wrapped up HS. Damn time flies! Not going to lie the ending of this movie def had me in tears. They can say what they want about Adam Sandler but I'll always love this dude

zmaqbool zmaqbool , I googled the address of where that factory once stood and it’s 3 miles away from me. It now has a bunch of office buildings on that block. The spot that still stands is the small airport where they filmed Casablanca, they did add new hangers though.

Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and it sucks she learned it the hard way :frown:

2 moderation points?!

This is no way to treat NTWT's top star. I am a star poster of a thread that gets hundreds of thousands of likes, because of ME and Sasha Banks.

BUT, I will accept this reprimand because I am a respectful poster.

Thank you.

Lol ofcourse it's a bunch of office buildings, what else would these developers build? Never seen Casablanca...I hear good things. Yeah man she def did learn it the hard way...tragic

Because one woman found it offensive and convinced all the other women it was offensive too.

Thats my guess.

My guess is it was an older woman who took offense. I’ve never had a younger one get mad at me for asking.

Man what did you do? I ask because it’s usually us who ****ed up somehow.
i been working at home quarantining!!

to my mistake i have not spent enough time with her and cancelled our plans this past weekend
usually i notice when i cancel weekend plans, the following week things dont go to well.
but i will be patient see what she say

The new trend here in Van Nuys is to buy older homes, tear them down and build thin tall apartment buildings :smh: It’s already overcrowded as it is and rent is high.

They gave you the black red 1 treatment?

Yeah that's the general approach I'm seeing. Either that or forced gentrification. It's crazy here in NYC...its slowly but surely become a rich man's town even outside of Manhattan. The pandemic has scared some into leaving. Currently 30,000 apartments are available which is like unheard of around here. And yeah I hear ya, Cali is super packed pretty much everywhere right
