zmaqbool zmaqbool you ain’t lying. I hurt my shoulder at the gym and it took over a year for it to heal properly and me be able to raise my arm straight up without pain. The **** sucked!
Damn! Over a year? What exactly did you do to it that it got hurt? Yes, it def sucks major ***! I rmbr few years ago for some reason my right side delt was aching I didn't think of it too much & when I went to shower I couldn't even rub soap on my body with my right hand. The pain felt like a pinch & extrene stretching throughout my shoulder. Idk what I did to hurt it but thank God it healed on it's own.

For the first time ever today I saw a medical emergency at the gym. This young skinny dude dislocated his shoulder & his shoulder was hanging. This other dude was nice enough to hold up & support the guy's shoulder until EMT's arrived.

That guy was in excruciating pain & crying. I had to look away as I don't have the stomach to look at freak injuries. I was hurting for him & my body was shaking from the anxiety just from looking at him. Dude couldn't move an inch & was still as a statue. Hope he makes a full recovery.
how did it happen? what was he doing? I had a medical emergency at the gym almost a decade ago. I fainted.

I just don't understand how men back then put on those types of shorts, looked in the mirror and said "yeah I'm about to head out".
that would be me. it was brutal. I was the only kid in HS that wore such during basketball. in fairness, I was ballin crazy.

Exactly. Just looking at him made me feel some type of way & my body wasn't liking it. And yeah not much we can do but pray for them. Yeah he was a nice guy. From what I was able to hear he was holding up his arm for at least a good 10-15 mins waiting on the EMT to arrive because he was joking that his own arm was beginning to hurt. Dude who hurt himself was on an ISO shoulder press. Thing with shoulders is they're the last muscle to get big & strong but first ones to get hurt just based off of the amount of movements that require some kinda shoulder involvement.
funny though, my shoulders are the 2nd strongest/best muscle group after my thigh/legs. partly because of genetics, my family has broad shoulders to begin with. although I started with sloping shoulders just because I don't feel raising my shoulders out of habit. nowadays, it's more prominent plus doing a lot of Arnold Presses helped as well.

I used this one.

Got on it only because the other machines were busy at the time. My shoulder was so bad that I’d be at Target reaching for something on a top or middle shelf and I’d get a pain so intense I’d bend over or kneel to the floor for a minute while the pain went away. Shoppers or my family members would look at me with concern while I tried to conceal the painful look on my face.

I had that same experience with the shower in that it hurt and couldn’t lift my arm straight up, half way was the most I could do. Letting hot water hit it and then stretching lightly at the same time helped. It took over a year though, lol.

He was on a ISO shoulder press where the handles are angled in front on the side, it's a weird machine. I'll take a pic of it later today. What happened that you needed medical attention?

Lucky you. For most people it seems their shoulders always suffer the most injuries. Arnold presses are one of the G.O.A.T. shoulder exercises.

was doing night shifts back then. I would immediately go to the gym after my shift (early morning). guess the lack of sleep and the fact that I didn't have anything to eat and drink made me suffer hypoglycemia. I was on my final workout routine and was on the bike doing hiit sprints. by the time that I finished and stood up, I felt some lightheadedness and walking to get some water. I was beginning to get blurry vision and could see white/cloudy surroundings. just before I collapsed on the mat, I was able to mutter in a weak voice to call 911 and then white-out on the floor. I thought nobody heard me since I couldn't hear nobody seem to be responding. it was scary and thought my was soul lifting out of my body. when the paramedics came, they said I was pale. back then I can push my self to the limit. can't see myself able to do that now considering my present health.

as far as shoulder injury goes, I had experienced really minor ones (god-forbidding). even with a minor injury, it does hurt a lot. I believe I tweaked my shoulder back then but was glad to recover a day after. I never really thought that a shoulder injury could hurt like a MF. nowadays, I'll just try to avoid slamming my shoulder into anything eventhough I have the tendency or habit of slamming it to budge stuff.

I almost passed out once after squatting or deadlifting and getting a weird feeling after a rep. Went to the locker room and vision started to go black and white like a fuzzy tv screen but I snapped out of it thankfully. Took my *** right to my car and sat for a while before I felt ok enough to drive home. Only happened that one time.

that one time is always a wake-up call like "don't do shet like that ever again".
