the thread about nothing...

Managed to get my old mini laptop working (with the assistance of a child!). It’s been at least 3 years and there are sooo many updates. It’s taking forever.

I stopped in at Walmart earlier. Pretty disappointing. I know the good deals are the doorbusters, but they had most of the stuff at regular price. Everything moving online now. R.I.P Black Friday videos 😂😒
Kind of glad as the years have gone by the Black Friday madness has simmered down & not as huge as it once was. We need to do better as a society than turn into animals over materialistic nonsense. I participated in that madness back in '07 & swore to never ever again put my safety at risk like that ever again.

Saw people acting wild & bum rushing the doors, when things got heated in line peoples racism started to show & some were ready to kill, lol, it was mayhem. Majority of that stuff can be bought online in a safe & stress free environment.

Using one of these as you grew up

When I was young we went to Clarks for school shoes - they had an automatic thing where you put your foot in and things slid in from the sides and end and gave a digital readout.

Looked a bit like this:

It was the height of technology in the early 80s and definitely the best part!

I never participated in the bum rushing door busters. But I did wait in line at Best Buy 2 years in a row for a total of 3 TV's. Best Buy had it down pretty good. Single file line and they only let a few ppl in at a time. I brought my camping chair an hour early both times and was within the first 10 ppl there. They also have colored flyers as tickets for the door buster deals. So if they have 100 of a certain item in stock they only make 100 flyers for that item and 10 min before they open they go down the line handing one out to each person who wants them. Basically 1st come 1st serve for the door busters. You take that ticket to the register to redeem it and they'll have your item in the back bay waiting for you to pickup as long as you have your receipt. The regular deals are up for grabs but the store was never packed since they control the amount of ppl inside. This was years ago so not sure if that's how they still do it tho.

“Believe it or not I got a flamethrower in ma tool shed”

Fight won

A flamethrower would defeat any animal. But a regular fight? Ain't no way I'm trying to fight a rat. I haven't played soccer in a while.

I could have sworn that there was a definitive answer for this last year. And it was as easy as reading the official transcript for the film. I believe they outright say his job title in the script, but not in the movie. And it was something like “advertising executive” or something. And his mom was a fashion designer. Easily able to afford that house, and that family trip with the money they bring in. WITHOUT the mafia being involved lol
