Yeah man, I love owning physical copies. Reading the booklet is cool too
Me too. Gotta be physical. Sometimes I'll buy an album on iTunes if it's the only option, but I don't subscribe to any music services and mostly listen to CDs in my car still. If I can't listen to the album front to back, I'm probably not listening.
TidalI can't stand my Spotify sometimes. It knows my music too much and my mix/recommend songs get kinda stale.
That’s exactly what I do. Helps a little while driving in traffic too.

Man I still remind my young nephews that I used to pay $16+ per cd back in my day. If I bought an album it had to be a big deal, lol. I used to borrow cd’s and record them to cassette. A bunch of my friends at school would pass around what we brought and swap. That’s the best way to save money as a high school kidFor sure, but if I look back and start thinking about all the money I've spent on physical media over the decades, it is ridiculous (VHS/DVD more than CDs). No wonder these kids today have money for clothes/shoes and video games. I spent so much damn money on media that they just get for next to nothing. CDs by bands that I'd heard one song or because they had a great album cover or because they were on a record label I liked that ended up being ***.
It definitely takes a lot of time. I have the same problem and also add retro video games to the mix. It’s tough.Been trying to find the balance point (for a long time) between access to everything and still having the album experience and ability to support specific artists. But in the end, I don't have time to listen to everything, and I've gotten SOOOOO much enjoyment out of the good music, it really has been worth it.
