a lot of watch snobs hates hublot but they are marketing genius and the general public likes them, theyve been hovering in the same place for years now

similar to tag, watch enthusiast arent fond of them but the general public sees Rolex > Omega > Tag and in some cases, Omega = Tag

tudor is in the right spot, they have a handful of watches that are waitlisted but after a few months the hype dies down and then the rest of their models just sit in the cases

and :smh: at IWC

was just talking with some about this too, the new overpriced ingenieur just became available at AD, it used to be a boutique exclusive and they kept on insisting its always meant to be but it wasnt because they got a backlash from a lot of ADs when it was announced and now its not selling at retail in boutiques so they got to move em to ADs now so they can salvage it and make some sales

and now look at where they are:

An analysis of specialty watchmakers at Richemont

Within Richemont, the performance of specialty watchmakers varied, with three brands—Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, and Van Cleef & Arpels—gaining market shares. However, a significant concern for the division is IWC, which experienced a 13% decline in sales, estimated at CHF 726 million.

This decline is attributed to the brand’s increasingly mispositioned pricing, despite launching compelling new products, such as the revived Ingenieur watch, the retail prices remain ambitious. Direct competitors like Omega and Breitling offer more competitive value propositions.

Finally gave up the Apple Watch for good and shifting away from G-Shocks for some timepieces. Picked this up over the weekend and absolutely love it Nixon Sentury. Does anyone else prefer their watches tight on their wrist with absolutely little to no movement at all?

things getting crazy out there, stay safe

that cartier bracelet cost 4x more than the dj

Good outcome but risky move. Insure it and give it up when robbed. That’s the right move. No need to risk your life for a watch
Sad thing is even when you give everything up 9 times out of 10 you still lose your life

That tissot chrono is nice but no way I’d drop 1800 for a tissot

Couldn’t wait. Flew up to NYC to grab my watch. Got the watch, grabbed some pizza at L’Industrie, and flew home. Long day but worth it.
