The Top 5 Reasons The South Keeps Winning (and Beating the Rest of You)

Yea I can't see how I can't call him a one hit wonder when he literally only has one hit

He has a few cool songs, but he is the definition of one hit wonder.

Juelz has had multiple hits and he still isn't considered close to a superstar. You aren't a superstar unless you can headline a tour.

I don't even mess with down south rappers tbh, music is so dumb downed it's not even funny.

And really the only reason why south is hot is because nearly all their artist are wack and wack is trending

what i will give you is that jim jones is on the same level as every NY artist that is not jay-z. At best he is mediocre and at worst is a mid level hype man.
His entire rise to fame and musical high point is when he was doing songs with max b. His career has went downsouth every since. Now he is stuck in that
VH1 lane.

No one is saying he's not a NY rapper, he's from NY so therefor he a NY rapper but u can't sit there and tell me that his misic doesent have Houston written all over it........and are u trying to say that only east coast rappers can spit?

Not really, his music is actually more of an international sound that isn't pigeonholed by region..Is 1-train not a classic New York posse cut and beat? Dude had skrillex, hit-boy, clam casino, danger mouse all produce for the album none of those are particularly southern producers. His **** is wide-ranging and borrows styles from a plethora of music scenes. Sure, it has it's houston influence but Ive yet to see a Houston artist rap on a Clams Casino beat.

This regional **** is so boring and makes hip-hop really lame.

I'm a huge Dipset fan and before I correct your mistakes, this talk about Juelz and Jim is pointless because both of them have been cold for a minute. Juelz should of had more success than his singles of " S.A.N.T.A.N.A. Town" & "Beamer, Benz, and Bentley". With his stellar verses on "Welcome To New York", "Hey Ma" and "Oh Boy", and that " I Can't Feel My Face" mixtape with Wayne, Juelz should of easily had the most success out of the Set. Some of y'all act like y'all weren't bumping " Crunk Muzik" and "Certified Gangtas". For those that didn't know Jim did have a radio hit after "Ballin", it was called " Pop Champagne". You know it was the song where some of y'all were drinking Martini & Rossi to and thought you were drinking real quality Rose. Regardless both of them are rolling over in their graves with all this talk about them.

I actually think it's entirely the opposite  I like listening to an artist and being able to tell where they're from (most of the time), whether it's flow, style, etc. But since nearly every city/region has been exposed for so long, you can't really tell that. Everybody just blends in with the next artist. A bunch of Create-A-Rappers around here

Having a deeper catalog =/= having hits. Not only did Juelz have legit hits in "Oh Yes", "The Whistle Song", and "Santana's Town", but he got a massive look from Cam'Ron's "Hey Ma" and "Oh Boy". Juelz truly was a star, he just ended up getting lost in the Def Jam fiasco and got a Jay Electronica lazy *** worth ethic. I'm a fan of Jim Jones, but he's a bit more than a 1 hit wonder with "Ballin" and "Pop Champagne". Now you can say Jim Jones had more consistent success than Juelz, since "Pop Champagne" was a comeback type song that caught on, while Juelz had been languishing for awhile. But hell, Juelz was on that song too . I'm pretty sure "Baby Girl" and "Summer Wit Mami" popped off big in NY, but there wasn't a peep of that anywhere else. Those were more than likely local songs played a lot there (like Trae Tha Truth's stuff here back in 06)

This is just a stupid statement. Don't even have to elaborate ;lol
