^Oh we both know he's faaaaar out of our price range now, somewhere around 25m euros...shocking that he was signed for around 5.5m euros from River Plate.

I personally think Pedro, Alves, and Busquets should be banned from the next match (as well as Albiol, Marcelo, and Adebayor for being dirty as @#$% without getting carded), but...

Roberto Palomar referred to Mourinho's "Jurassic football" and claimed: "Mourinho has perverted history and has lost the emotional boost that used to go with taking the field at the Bernabéu in the European Cup. Before they played with a 12th man. Nowadays, with 10."

Fernando Carreño suggested that rather than complain about the refereeing, Madrid fans should question Pepe's studs-up challenge and Raúl Albiol's grabbing of Pedro Rodríguez's throat, ask why Kaká and Gonzalo Higuaín were left on the bench after dazzling against Valencia "or if the best that Real Madrid with a squad costing €500m can do is to leave the ball with the best ball-playing side in the world and play on the counterattack".

He went on: "To be forever complaining, and especially with complaints of this nature, doesn't seem to be a credible or acceptable posture" for someone in Mourinho's position. "Real Madrid, in my opinion, is a great club that deserves something better. If your approach is results-based and you don't get the result, what's left?"

In an online poll more than 72% of Marca's readers disagreed with Mourinho's comments that referees favoured Barcelona. (Some 78% felt Pepe's red card was correct.)

Dutch club VVV-Venlo sign 1-year-old child

By Brooks Peck

YouTube videos have led to a number of footballers getting signed by clubs around the world, but this might be the first time it's worked for an 18-month-old. It's very much a publicity stunt, but the popular YouTube clip of young Baerke van der Meij kicking balls into his toy chest caught the attention of relegation-threatened Dutch top flight club VVV-Venlo and prompted the club to sign him to a 10-year professional contract. Though, it is made clear that the contract is a "symbolic" one.

From the Telegraph:

The toddler joined VVV's star midfielder Ken Leemans during a training session in De Koel Stadium on Tuesday before being offered the "symbolic" contract.

"The toddler's favourite position has not yet been determined. However, we can speak of a right-footed player with a very good kicking technique, perseverance and, importantly: football genes via his grandfather," said a VVV Venlo press release.

Baerke's grandfather used to play for the club and his family still lives in the city of Venlo.

As silly as this whole thing is, VVV-Venlo really did a great job of selling it, even going so far as to have the little boy attend a press conference and sign a contract. Well, scribble on one, anyway. Here are some pictures from the event...

Between the fauxhawk, the runny nose, and the satisfied look on his face, I'd say little Baerke has a bright future ahead of him.

Of course, Arsenal have long been the subject of jokes about signing young players, so we'll have to wait and see how they react to seeing an 18-month-old signed by another club. Someone is probably trying to figure out how to have a fetus sign a contract right now.

Is it just me, or does that dude seem to find the back of the net multiple times every match?

Swear to God, every time I watch Porto highlights it's two, three, four goals for Falcao.

Then again, Villareal's marking on set pieces was even poorer than Arsenal's (especially on Falcao's third goal

)...

Wenger won't bring him in.  He'll stick to his guns like he always does, insist that nothing is wrong with the team because they have a positive attitude and they play the right way but they were a bit unlucky and didn't get the expected result and blah blah blah.  Just like Cesc, his time at the Emirates is up.  It's been fun, it's been great, but Cesc will never be the leader that this team desperately needs and Wenger has completely lost the plot.

Bring on Charlie Adam, please.
