Damn that's cold coming from an Arab club.

Jordi Alba is headed home to Catalunya for a reported 14 million fee. Confirmed on the club website. He'll sign a five year deal.

Fee was low relative to his talent/age because he was on the last year of his contract, but for a guy with excellent technique, strong attacking thrust out of the back, and about four lungs, it's an excellent bit of business.

  • Luka Modric, 26, plans to submit a written transfer at Tottenham in the next seven days to trigger a £30m-plus tug-of-war between Manchester United and Real Madrid.
  • Tottenham could ease the pain of losing Luka Modric by signing Turkey midfielder Nuri Sahin, 23, in part exchange.
  • West Ham have upped their bid for 31-year-old striker Grant Holt to £6m and hope a £4m payment up front will convince Norwich to sell.
  • Manchester City have made the first move to tie key forward David Silva, 26, to an improved contract.
  • Birmingham City have rejected a £6m offer for Jack Butland, 19, from Southampton.

Only thing I don't understand about Spurs announcing AVB on July 1st is that it will coincide with the Euro final...

Also am hearing that there may be news about a new stadium in the middle of July. Would be interesting to see if that is part of the reason why Levy is willing to dish out some cash or if it is because he just didn't trust Harry at all.

I don't mind United losing Modric to Madrid.
Modric will sit on the bench for a lot of games there.  And that's his personal choice (or rather Levy trying to maximize the most out of the sale). It's just good business for the club (Spurs).

However, we need to re-commit Nani. Sign Rodriguez for depth, sign Strootman, and look for one more CAM (maybe from South America/France) and ease him into the club.

Modric is very talented, however there's been comments over him not having the right attitude.  People were saying when his TR to Chelsea last season was rejected, he didn't play with his heart last season.  Surely we can find someone for cheaper in a different league who we can ease into that role.

Wolves are keen to take Manchester City defender Stefan Savic, 21, on loan.

Newcastle will go back to Lille with an improved bid of around £6m for 26-year-old France international right-back Mathieu Debuchy.

West Ham are trying to sign Tottenham's experienced French centre-half William Gallas, 34, on a free transfer.

Liverpool will move for Wigan forward Victor Moses, 21, if top target Gylfi Sigurdsson chooses Tottenham.

Paris Saint-Germain join Manchester City in the race for Arsenal's 28-year-old striker Robin van Persie.

I'm starting to get excited about the thought of AVB as our new manager. Unlike Chelsea, spurs seems to be the perfect club for him. I'm just hoping he's learned from his previous mistakes.

dont know if i said this in the thread before but i think modric is massively over rated so i dont really care where he goes

  • Chelsea look set to beat Real Madrid's offer for Luka Modric, 26, as they prepare a £36m bid for the midfielder.
  • Ibrahim Afellay is ready for showdown talks over his Barcelona future - with Tottenham and Liverpool watching developments on the 26-year-old.
  • Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to capture Leighton Baines and want the 27-year-old to fly out on their pre-season tour on 16 July.
  • Andre Villas-Boas wants to make Porto's Joao Moutinho, 25, his first signing at Tottenham for £32m as a replacement for Luka Modric.
  • Spurs' Giovani Dos Santos, 23, is expected to leave White Hart Lane for either Sevilla or Atletico Madrid at the weekend.
  • Fulham and Everton are said to be chasing Czech defender Tomas Sivok, 28, a free agent when his current deal with Besiktas comes to an end.
  • Ezequiel Lavezzi has snubbed a move to Manchester City in favour of joining Paris St Germain. The 27-year-old is close to agreeing a £21m move to the French capital.
  • Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is eyeing Bolton's Mark Davies, 24, in a £6million swoop after missing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson.
  • Newcastle United chiefs have travelled to Holland to discuss a move for Luuk De Jong, 21, of FC Twente.

If Newcastle can sign Luuk De Jong for a reasonable price, he will be another huge profit for them in the future.

^Most def, can't wait to see him really break into the national team.
I thought the Lavezzi deal was already agreed upon....I'm surprised they didn't go after RvP earlier

Platini is an idiot... He can't be serious about Euro 2020.

And saying Modric is overrated would be like saying Arteta is overrated, the roles they play don't show up statistically nor do they really show up in highlights. But when you look at interviews with other players on the team, the teammates will say how vital they are.

  • Stoke City have targeted Wolves striker Steven Fletcher and Steven Naismith, who has refused to move to the "newco" Rangers after landing former Ibrox midfielder Jamie Ness.
  • Celtic are in contact with Bordeaux defender Michael Ciani's agent about a £1m move to the Scottish champions.
  • Celtic have finally tied up an agreement to make permanent goalkeeper Fraser Forster's switch from Newcastle United.
  • Kyle Lafferty has clinched a move to Swiss club Sion, where he will join former AC Miland and Rangers midfielder Rino Gattuso, despite a late bid by Parma for the striker who has left Rangers.

Lucio has already agreed to a deal with Juventus, I'm expecting an announcement to make this official.

Alessandro Del Piero's not a Juventus player anymore, his contract expired and he's leaving the club.
