The Ultimate Soccer Thread 2012-2013 Vol. 3 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc

True, but we really need a striker regardless of that fact.

Postiga is USELESS. Dude has one good game out of every 10, and today was one of his garbage performances as usual despite his goal. How many more open chances is this guy gonna miss?Oliveira might not have had a good Euro performance, but he's still young and needs more minutes...at least he can't be any worse than Postiga

I miss Pauleta...
So do I but this is the Pauleta that never really showed up in big games in tournaments outside of his hat trick in the 2002 world cup.  All his goals came in qualifying rounds.

Portugal's needed a striker for the past 10 years. If they ever had that they would have at least had a Euro championship by now.

Brasil, Brasil. The world has caught up and now surpassed the national religion that is football in Brasil.

Brasilians are going to start riots in the world cup next year when they lose before the Quarter-Finals.

The world caught up a long time ago. Italy, Germany, and Argentina all have won as many World Cups as Brazil have in the last 40 years. But there is little to suggest they'll lose before the quarter-finals. The only sides with more balance and talent throughout their full-strength sides are Spain, Germany, and maybe Italy. Scolari will have them playing well by next year.

This is what Portugal does tho, ever since 2006 they underperform in the qualifications and exhibitions. They're always on the verge but always make it to the tournaments and do pretty well. They were the second best team in the Euros last year.

The Jewish nation got some payback I guess for the inquisition. It happens.

Define 'pretty well.' They didn't do much at all in Euro '08 or in WC '10. Second best team last year? LOL. Maybe fourth. Obviously not more impressive than the two finalists, and were beaten in the group stages by Germany who ultimately lost at the same stage. They were pretty lucky to get out of the group stages. That fortuitous late winner against Denmark, and the Dutch's usual bout of infighting saw them through.

And an Inquisition joke? Oh, you're cool.

Someone who can't take a joke and gets as emotional as you do, is always so marveling to me, haha. It's great. Keep living life that way, you'll enjoy it.

That Portugal vs Germany game, you know damn right Germany didn't deserve that game. It was evenly faught, go back and check the German press. The Denmark game, they still played better and got lucky at the end, it happens, it's soccer. They completely dismantled the Netherlands. Dismantled the Czech without the score indicating so. And played the machine that Spain is, out right and better then any other team could, to penalties. No way Portugal would have lost 4-0 against Spain in the finals. So that's why I said Portugal could have been the 2nd best them in the tourney last year.

Not that far-fetched playboy.

"They do pretty well" for a team with 10 million people and for a team that struggles in qualifications year after year without having one above-average striker.

Why wouldn't Germany deserve to win if it was even, and yet they were the one to take their chance? They absolutely deserved to win, and far more consistent in their performance throughout the tournament. They were more impressive. And Italy played Spain to a draw in the group stages too, only they actually scored. Portugal were good against Spain - very well organized, but were dominated in extra time, and overall were up and down throughout the tourney. Italy beat England, Germany, and drew Spain, so they were definitely better.

And I didn't get emotional, just found it disturbing you make jokes about events in history during which countless innocents were murdered. Do you make holocaust jokes in your spare time too, funny guy?

My bad, I guess it was too soon. Maybe after another 700 years someone can make a very slight joke about it how the Jews got some revenge today.

My apologies.

Man that score in the screen for the espn2 game of Spain vs Finland is too big & distracting... espn sucks...

Spain creating chances, and will probably win this, but if they're going to continue to play with 5 midfielders they should really use a FB who provides some width. Azi should probably be starting over Arbeloa.

Bit nervous for the US match later. They need a result. JK needs to be pragmatic in his tactical approach.

There it is. Now if you can refrain from making awkwardly inappropriate jokes in future public forums you will avoid such situations.

Exactly, I need to try to avoid fickle uptight individuals like you on a message board, like I do in real life. Good looks.

Go have a beer and hop off, it'd be good for ya. Or just click the ignore button everytime you're distressfully offended.

Cheeky-rito.

Now pack it in and get ready to ride on the Yanks on Tuesday.
