The Walking Dead - Official Thread

I dont get people's beef with season 3. Care to explain yours.
It was great IMO just like season 1 & 2.
It was great, until the finale. You don't let a star character go out like that. If you're going to kill her off do it in Walking Dead fashion. The way Andrea went out was weak. The show pretty much left us hanging with The Governor story. It definitely didn't go down as I hoped it would.

The Governor story line isn't over yet.

Yeah, I know. Just felt they could've gave us a little more. Him shooting up the townspeople was the best part of the finale.
It was. They couldn't have really done much more with him though because in the comics he's pretty much a one dimensional character, and they had to offer more layers to him to make him last longer.

People are always excited for the new season then that excitement disappears near midseason when the slow episodes air. Then we complain until the last 2-3 episodes.

I can't believe that. People don't mind slow episodes. I just don't care for things when their overly drawn out like things were in season 2.

Question: The new Walking Dead trailer looks crazy good, but it was decidedly Governor-lite. How big a presence will David Morrissey have in Season 4? —Cris
Ausiello:

Well, I can tell you that he’ll have a major presence in at least two Season 4 episodes, both of which are being unofficially billed as ”standalone Governor” installments. No specific intel on when those episodes will air, but I hear they’ll likely fall in the first chunk of eight (premiering Sunday, Oct. 13).

Trailer looks promising, but this show had its slow moments which although I didn't like, I kept watching.

So ready for this season!

Slow moments is a wild understatement :lol the whole damn season was slow and everything they hyped up was resolved in like 2 minutes. I think the only episode I really enjoyed last season was when they met up with the black dude from the first episode. Don't think I'll be watching this season unless I hear good things.

And thats the thing, because they invested so much money in building that Jail they are preventing the story from moving on so we stuck with boring episodes with nothing happening

Breaking Bad Season 5 hit Netflix about a week before the debut of this current half-season. I'd probably expect something similar with The Walking Dead.

Although, in my opinion, it should be earlier. Breaking Bad had only 8 episodes to catch up on from the first half of Season 5.

The Walking Dead Season 3 has 16. :eek

I'm not hyped about the series as I used to be, just too many filler episodes that seem to drag out the story. That might also be because I played The Walking Dead game by Telltale which owns the series in comparison. Isn't the game based on the comics? If so might have to start reading it, few people in this thread liked it better than the show.

The game isn't based on the comics, though some characters from the comics are featured like Glenn and Lilly. From what I read every genre of The Walking Dead is its own world.

Why?

They softened up the governer way too much. I understand they're basically different stories now, but the way they portrayed the governor really weakened the overall governor arc, which really hurt season 3. Thats the main reason the season sucked. They were too busy trying to give this deep backstory to a character that was one dimensional and served a major purpose in the comic mainly because he was just a horrible person.

Lessened the sense of danger and the tension. They dropped the ball with the governor.
