The Walking Dead - Official Thread

Hey_

The Walking Dead Game from Tell Tale is up for game of the year at the Video Game Awards on Spike.com.

If you haven't played the game, I highly suggest you do.

I don't thin I've played a game where I've been emotionally attached to the characters, and conflicted by choices I've made that have effected them.

Voice acting is GREAT, and the writing rivals what we've seen in the other mediums of The Walking Dead.

can we at least get some webisodes?

The game is absolutely worth getting.

You'll find yourself attached to certain characters, just like in the other mediums; hell maybe even more so.

I have to reiterate that the writing in this game is great.

Never played a game that had me so emotionally invested.

On another Zombie note, anyone playing that War Z game? Looks awesome! THinking about copping, but wanna get a guest pass first if anyone has one please hit me up!!

Everyone was saying the same thing about Lori that they are about Andrea now. Bet if she dies people are going to say that they didn't want her to die and or she is still alive.
I haven't noticed that. I think most people who didn't like her character are happy she's gone. The people who keep saying she's still alive just want to throw weird theories or plot teists out there to reach for something.

I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping The Governor just helped himself to the Maggie yambs. It would've really vilified him, the fact he didn't showed he is a weak villain.

I see either Daryl, or The Governor killing Merle, Daryl out of compassion or The Governor kills Merle because he won't hurt his brother. He already asked him, "where does your loyalty lies?" making him choose the town over his brother.

They shoulda went all the way with the Governors heel turn. You cant be half a bad guy.

:lol @ everybody wanting Andrea dead. Some of yall are still waiting for Lori to come back from the dead.

possible ending leaked from a source that has leaked info before in the walking dead forum

During the raid, Rick gets his gun bag (Which Andrea had at the end of the second season!). Oscar dies helping the group escape Woodbury, during the raid, the Gate at Woodbury is overrun, and there are casualties, although they eventually regain control of the front with assistance from Andrea. While on the road back from their rescue attempt, Rick and the group meet Tyreese, same way and setup as the comic... Merle/Daryl confrontation is teased but not shown... The Governor plots his revenge and strike on the prison, seeing Rick's group as the ultimate threat to the society he is trying to build... back, including his walkie talkie

Morgan is back in ep 12 (I think), he has lost his grip, and his return is wild, only to be bit and put down by Rick, Andrea will stab The Governor in the eye with either a fork or knife,(a piece of silverware off table)Tyreese gets his gym scene, and there is nobody else shown when Tyreese appears, but his appearance is the cliffhanger/last scene for the finale, so he could have others with him...They're basically going to kill off Morgan so Tyreese can stand out

Cris and Julie do not appear in the mid-season finale.

THIS. The whole story arc really won't have the same impact as the comic of they don't go all the way with The Governor. I feel like they really haven't made him seem like a bad guy at all. In the comic he was just a sick twisted guy. Here he's some conflicted leader who leans on the excuse of keeping his little slice of Eden and all the wonderful people on it safe.

For every terrible thing we've seen The Govorner do, there has been 5 things that show him in a more positive light.

There's still time, but man, what a lame Govorner. I know they have to play it safe with TV, but I'm thoroughly disappointed thus far.

:rollin @ that whole part involving Morgan. Killing all the black guys for Tyrese. IT MAKES NO SENSE. I'm betting since Kirkman didn't do much with Morgan other than have him bang Michonne that's why he's getting offed for no reason.

Don't want to claim racism but they're not helping themselves by picking up plot thread just to destroy them. If you got no plans for Morgan don't bring him back yet. Simple as that. How they gonna kill Oscar during the escape, meet Tyrese later, then bring Morgan back in a "wild" way just to have him be bit and killed off?

Why not introduce him in the cannibal arc? Since they like veering away from the comic create an actually compelling arc before you get to moving to DC and the communities?

:{ :| until I see this executed in the show. On one hand I'm hype cuz Tyrese is finally showing up but killing 2 (technically 3) black guys just to do it? :x

Really can't have more than 1 black guy in the group? If this happens I'll say what they should've done is make the doctor in Woodbury a female that doesn't agree with the Governor's ways so after they kill him she can go with them. Then they could kill off Hershel, kill the prisoners or have them all die when the Governor attacks (make em all white damnit), Merle and Daryl die in a fight, bring in Morgan later, then follow the comics a bit and split the group for a while. Have a season solely dedicated to them just trying to survive with several conflicts every few eps until they get to DC.

Glenn and Maggie are still prisoners, right? I wouldnt be surprised to see the Governor take a real dark turn to start the next episode. Or end it. Either way, it's the half-season finale, so I'd bet Kirkman and the writers want to end on a BIG event, and pushing the Governor into that 'no-redemption possible' zone next episode would be a good way to end it. I mean, leave the audience shocked on the finale, not the penultimate episode.

I'm really hoping that's the case. I get the feeling that they're going to be moving past it soon with there finally being confrontation between the two groups, but anything can happen.

If it goes the way you said, I'd be very happy. Hopefully they aren't done villainizing The Govorner.

i love how this episode showed how ricks crew is really crazy and tough, michonne, merle and the governor were surprised

wait till carl lets them choppas off

I decided this week that I hate the television rendition of the character "The Governor".  To pull it off on tv they had to either make him a complete nut case or a really charismatic dude who could charm the pants off a walker, and this actor is neither.  He's just kinda there.  So when he does something crazy instead of you being like whoa this dude is a lunatic, instead it kinda just doesn't really make sense.

For example the teased rape scene with Maggie.  I get it was them giving a nod to the comic book readers, but then he doesn't do anything.  When you REALLY think about it the governor hasn't done anything even that crazy.  Zombie heads? So?  He's curious.  Zombie daughter?  She's his daughter.  Herschel did the same thing.  Shooting up the coast guard?  What if they were dangerous?  Some of you prob woulda done the same.  I'm not even sold on him being evil yet... Merle seems to be a lot more reckless than he is.

Idk.  The tv show doesn't do the real character justice.  Unless we get some real psychopathic behavior this last episode, the character was a dud.

They aren't going to show all that cause it's on AMC. If this was an HBO show we'd see the Governor getting Andrea, Michonne, and Maggie's yambs. Hell, maybe eem Glenn if they wanted to make him really crazy.

I get that, but the character isnt crazy at all on the tv show. they split his craziness up and gave most of it to merle.  as a result, the character is boring and uneffective.  like is anyone REALLY scared of what he might do so far?  Rick is scarier than him.

Great points.

Also, that spoiler was pretty out there and didn't make much sense either.

I agree.

The guy from the Cold Storage webisodes is more of a villain than the Governor.
