Luka on pace for 1st team all NBA and maybe MIP??

I forgot that Luka is listed as a guard. He should get All-NBA 1st EASILY. I thought he was going to compete for a spot with Giannis/LeBron/Kawhi.

After Luka and Harden, and with Curry out the next best guard this season is... Kemba, I guess. I know about Beal, but he has no chance at 1st team with that record.

He's been the one since he was 16. It's hardly surprising.

Dude is also super extroverted so that attention has always been more than welcome

Either way he's shown he's still very capable and this 'revenge season' narrative is great for fans and haters.

I know Vlade passing on Luka looks bad at the moment because of how good he’s playing but the Kings already had/have Fox, Buddy and Bogdan who are all really good and Bagley has looked very good when he’s been on the court and was a MUCH bigger position of need.

The real idiots are the Suns who passed on Luka while literally having Luka’s old head coach as their coach at the time of the draft. They could have basically had Splash Bros 2.0 right now and who knows what could have happened from there.

That’s absolutely the case most of the time, but in this case the Kings three best players were already young point guard/wing players who are also pretty damn good themselves and Bagley was a great prospect, perfect fit and has done well when healthy. And let’s please not act like everyone knew Luka was going to look like this, especially in his second season. There were a lot of people that thought he was going to be too slow or too unathletic to do the things he was doing in Europe against NBA athletes.

We are seeing how much better Booker is when he has a real PG to set him up, now imagine both Rubio and Luka on the same team dishing out to Ayton and Booker for pick and roll, cuts etc...it would have been an incredibly fun team to watch.

That being said, the Luka Pozingiz pairing still has the potential to become something special.

Buddy was coming off a 13.5 ppg season the year before Luka's rookie year.
Bogdan: 11.8 ppg
Fox: 11.6 ppg

Their leading scorer was a 36 year-old Zach Randolph at 14.5 ppg. If there was any team in the history of the league who shouldn't have felt forced to look for a specific position when drafting, it's the 2017-18 Sacramento Kings.

Meanwhile the Suns had Devin Booker coming off a 24.9 ppg season and TJ Warren a 19.8 ppg one. You could at least see what they were going for, how they thought that they had a decent perimeter for the future, and why they should emphasize on the inside. Plus from what I remember, Ayton was waaay more hyped than Bagley, to an extent where he was proclaimed to be the next David Robinson, so they have an excuse there as well.

The jury is still out on Ayton. Obviously, he will never be good enough to be justified for being drafted over Luka, but he may end up one of the best centers in the league, and for sure a better player than Bagley.
