levert is out now, but he was there for the 4-7 stretch i believe. so i am unsure of what you are implying?

That the Nets were off to a slow start because Kyrie & Levert naturally would have bumbs in the road trying to create chemistry, now that both are out. The Nets are back to playing more like last year

willing to accept that as a possibility. lets see what happens after kyrie comes back. if they return to being sub par as a team, dont come with any excuses.

Every team in the league had additions and subtractions to work out. Lakers, Clippers, Sixers, Celtics etc etc. To go 4-7 with being added to the same cast as the year before isn't an indictment, but your antennas have to go up, right?

i am already of the belief that kyrie is the common denominator in more team failures than success, IMO

Undeniable talent? yes. Locker room cancer? Becoming harder and harder to deny.

Fine. Dru and BI for Simmons.

Do it Mitch.

How many PGs in the league can neither beat a 2-3 zone or full court press?

Biggest issues in this situation are

A. Ben is simply not a point guard. He should be used in a roided up Lamar Odom role, but Brett Brown has and will do anything to please the kid’s heart because he’s known him and his family forever and he’s the Australian National team head coach and doesn’t want his country’s best player turning against him.

B. Because of Brett’s strong ties to Ben we basically can’t trade him for as long as Brett is coach. They’re pretty much a package deal.

There were strong rumors Elton was looking to trade Ben last year because of his fear that Ben wouldn’t adjust his game and they’d be stuck in this situation with him. Dude is ballsy as hell when it comes to trades so I just wonder how much more he needs to see this before he just doesn’t give a **** about potentially messing up another country’s basketball situation.

it’s only for so long fake point guards can pretend
He’s literally holding the team back. It’s clear as day why Jimmy left now, he probably asked EB to move Ben and he’d stay and then that contract came out. Jimmy has zero issue with Tobi getting his money

find it very ironic some people called one guy a mental ****** but Simmons still believes he can only play PG. there’s some issues there

I know we aint blaming simmons for that L now are we lolol ?

the whole team couldnt beat the zone.. they got good looks at jumpers but missed them

bench shot horrible

simmons was not the problem

serious question...if ben shoots 35% from 3 on 4 attempts a game, is there an issue?

imo, no. he needs to buck up and let it fly, esspecially in the corners and when he's wide open

not saying he will shoot 35%, but baby steps.

This is not the first time this team was not able to beat a 2-3 zone. Simmons can not create in half court. Any competent PG can do that, hell even TJ McConnell

our 7’2 C has to play on the perimeter because our PG wants to play inside when he doesn’t have the ball.

our 6’10 PG also refuses to shoot and can’t beat many dudes off the dribble.

Embiid has his issues and so does Harris and J Rich. Until we get a real PG or Simmons decides to shoot were are limited. Can still beat any team but limited as hell

Nope. Him shooting opens up a PnR game between him and Embiid. Also would make teams not consider doubling off Simmons as much

we’re trying to force everyone around him to be that shooter since he doesn’t want to be

agreed. i mean if ben has the ball at the top of the arch, dribbling, his defender literally has his heels on the free throw line with his hands down. thats unacceptable and unfair to embiid. dont get me wrong, embiid has his issues. but when the double isnt coming from very far and spacing is null and void, its hard to operate.

He'll probably never get there. A quarter of the season has passed, and he's 2 for 5 from 3 for the season. To think he'd average 4 attempts a game is funny

Exactly. Embiid has to do too much to get a good looks and everyone *****es when he gets gassed too quickly. It’s easy to get gassed when everything is twice as hard because your PG is holding you back

Losing JJ was a big loss. You need at least one HIGH volume three point guy with both Simmons & Embiid playing 35+ mpg.

They’re gonna be in some ugly games in May & June & that’s the only way they can win  if it becomes a shootout, they just don’t have the guns to keep up from deep

It would be poetic to bring back Jrue and win a chip after his trade initiated the Process.

I would say Jrue + Ingram + JJ for Simmons + a filler.

Then the Pels can worry about their own spacing issues. lol

You know a team needs better guards when you’re going to Al Horford for a catch and shoot 3 in the final seconds of a two point game.

coulda shoulda woulda in this state

but more like cause noone esp j-rich cut to the basket ??

Even if jimmy cut it off its a possible open pass to tobi..
