Due to the emergence of social media and rapid evolution of technology that if someone had the numbers and personality they could transcend him. It seems as if you’re using the logic that since MJ did it first, he can’t be dethroned. It would take a lot of things to go right but it could be said that’s what happened with MJ.

Kobe and Bron both had chances. They just fell short for a variety of reasons. The imaginary player in the future we are talking about would probably have to be a hybrid of the two to surpass MJ. There’s also a growing sentiment that if MJ played in the social media era that folks really wouldn’t **** with him.

I dunno bro. Kobe and Bron NEVER really had a chance. Think about Jordans and what they've meant culturally...what it did for Nike. Social media and technology hasn't allowed ANY of these ****** to amass THAT level of influence since. Nike keep putting out the same retros...and it's kids that didn't even see that ***** play who are going to buy them. Nobody really gives a **** about the Lebron shoes. They don't "mean" anything. And again...I don't think that's his fault....I just don't think it can be done again. I don't WE will see it. I'd guestimate it's more likely to happen in at least 50 years than within the next 25.

D Rose has an autobiography coming out. Ghost written by Sam Smith. I might check it out. Feel like he’s a guy I don’t really know a lot about - other than even though he’s been around for a long time.

I know all athletes have ghost writers, but calling it an “autobiography” when dude can’t read is a major stretch.

Facts. It’s very hard to top something that you weren’t first in. I mean he’s MJ! Black cat, it’s cliche but he’s still churning out Bs from shoes that first debuted in 1987. He is culture. Eclipsing that is impossible IMO he’s like wilt with the stats. He was the first of his kind for the sport of basketball and for that alone he probably won’t ever be surpassed. The stars aligned perfectly. His style of play, the city, basketball becoming more popular on the heels of bird and magic and them aging out, it was just perfect.

And even if you pinned it down to just basketball, no one’s going to dominate basketball the way Jordan did within his era.

Like LBJ’s resume is ELITEEE and falls well short of Jordan’s. Same with Kobe.

There won’t be another player who goes 6 for 6 in the finals, gets five league MVPs, scores 32K points or whatever it was, win DPoy, etc.

Mike will be forever the greatest. He’s like wilt with the stats.
