he came in, instantly got beat on a few slip screens giving up i think 2 layups, and clogged a driving lane for EG resulting in a turnover. his best "skill" is effort as of now. the hornets played zeller 13 minutes and hernangomez 17 minutes. those guys aren't real threats, and it benefit us more to stay small and make them guard the perimeter and not be protecting the rim.
the decision to go small was set once we traded for russ. there's a reason he's been on an absolute tear lately. there's a reason he hasn't really settled for jumpers lately. No big is clogging the paint. the only team that can truly exploit it is the lakers. for them, we'll have to tweak the offense to incorporate bigs, but for everyone else we can run small and thrive.
