You don't get it.
1) He's playing with another 5 who only is in the dunker spot. That makes things hard for AD.
2) His catches aren't clean, especially in the 4th. He's allowed smaller guys to get up under him and push him out of good post position
3) Lakers are isolating Anthony Davis too much. He's improved a ton in this area, but this ain't his ****.
Nah bro.
1. So what if Dwight is there in the "dunker" spot? Did 6'11" Otis Thorpe stop Dream from getting the rock in the post with Jet, Cassell, and Mad Max feeding him? Did Parish stop McHale from getting touches inside? Or how bout Robinson, did he prevent Duncan from operating inside?
If AD demands it, the space will create itself and everyone clears out. He just not aggressive enough. Mindset not there yet. He will learn tho.
2. If a small is pushing him away from good post position, that's when a good floor general recognizes the situation and calls AD to run a PNR to re-position AD and exploit the mismatch.
3. Lakers won't have this problem if when AD is on ISO, players are cutting and moving off the ball on the weakside in order to shift the defense.
Kuzma is supposed to be that guy but instead only Caruso the one doin it. The rest just standing there spectating.
Additionally, AD ismore effective on ISO if Lakers mix it up with him on offense. Iso down low, then pnr next time down then iso again but face up top of the key. Then switch it up and go pinch post action for that mid range.
When it comes to AD, Lakers have to mix it up on offense.
No he not gonna punk dudes down low like Shaq. But he got the size, skill, and athleticism to get whatever he wants if the D don't know what's comin cause hff e sint been shooting fadeaways and jumpers all game.
