Pretty sure rolaholic rolaholic was being sarcastic. “Branding” isn’t the Knicks issue. The brand is why MSG stays full even though the team has sucked. More innovative branding isn’t going to make Jimmy Dolan less of yutz...

True, but we need to attract players man. That’s how we win. & if we win, we won’t care bout Jimmy D

Nevermind the fact they brought on one of the best execs in the game before bringing in Drake

It’s not about winning the lottery (although that would be huge lol). It’s about the margins.

It’s about not drafting Kevin Knox when Michael Porter Jr is sliding and SGA is available.
It’s about not drafting Frank Niketalk when Bam and Donovan Mitchell are still available.

The only draft picks they’ve hit on are Kristaps & Mitchell Robinson.

You need to draft well and build up the infrastructure. Knicks free agency attempts really haven't went too well.

Exactly. The Warriors and Clippers got to the point that they are destinations for top FAs because they got good (very rich) owners in place, who are committed to winning, and who then set up very competent front offices, which have made good personnel moves, leading to winning.

Without those things in place, nothing much else matters when it comes to attracting great players.

Drafting is and always will be a crapshoot. Some players who were drafted earlier than the guys you mentioned were projected to be more impactful than they were and it ended up being different.(except for the Frank situation)... but hindsight is and always will be 20/20

Well the team owner sucks so I guess nothing else matters honestly b/c he ain’t going anywhere :lol

When did Lebron join a 73-9 team that he was beating 3-1 in the conference finals? :nerd:

I think the writer was reaching. KD going to GS should’ve never happened. I’ve been clear on my issues with Ramone.

1. He gets all the praise when they win, and outside of 2011 none of the blame when his teams lose.
2. He went back to Cleveland
3. He allows his teammates to be disrespected by the media. They legit make it seem like he’s played with bums his whole career and he never had help.

Meh its not about missing on picks. Teams rebuilding will usually draft the project (Knox, Frank) in that range. The problem is we cant develop anyone properly.

In 2017, every team after pick 5 knew about Mitchell and Bam
In 2018, every team after pick 5 knew about SGA

There's no point about talking about MPJ. There's a reason 95% of the lottery teams passed up on him and he landed on a team that was already well established. The Nuggets had nothing to lose missing on that pick. But we'll revisit this when he plays over 30 min a night for a month straight.
