Spo should get credit for scouting unknown talent and having the team buy into the system. But Toronto being better than last year while losing a DPOY and FMVP and another key rotation player is something no one expected.

I think right now the race should be:

Nurse

Spo & Taylor Jenkins

Stevens, Bud, and Billy

I also think Carlise should get some props for doing similar things that Spo did. Prior to the season, they were supposed to be super thin but with the same players are now considered one of the deeper teams in the league.

I think one thing working against Stevens is that people exected him to work his magic as he usually does. Nurse, Spo and Jenkins are all big surprises.

. They been trying to give him imaginary championships every since it looked like he wouldn’t get more. Windhorst went on ESPN and said beating the Celtics in 2018 without Kyrie in 7 games, counts as a championship to him :lol:
