I'm a couple years older than you and didn't start watching the NBA until 1991

Of course I wasn't able to break basketball down, but I remember watching him in the late 80s/Early 90s. Of course he wasn't in his prime at the time but he was my first favorite player.

shelter in place got me so bored im watching CBS' replay of the '83 championship game. my gawd im glad basketball has morphed over the decades. Hakeem was doing dirt (almost a trip dub with blocks) but besides him, offense was just 30 seconds of dribbling and passing along the perimeter and then throwing it into the post for a contested missed lay up. they went 10+ minutes without a 3 point attempt
