It's legit wild to me the amount of NBA players who don't have indoor gyms.

I would guess that less than 1% of current guys have indoor gyms? Like actual indoor basketball gyms.

You would just assume that it would be at least a little more prevalent. Kind of like how Shaq or even T-Mac's set up is.

I guess 24/7 access to the team facility makes it kind of moot though.

Bron - Kobe finals easily, although Rose never getting hurt would've been awesome to see.

Still got fond memories of MVPuppets around the time it felt inevitable

The deleterious effects of social media serve as a key theme throughout The Victory Machine, which presents the case that much of Durant’s restlessness can be traced back to an unhealthy relationship with the internet. While the book documents how various tensions threatened Golden State’s status atop the basketball world, it makes a compelling case that online toxicity had a sneaky role in prying the squad apart and compelling its best player to leave.

The Victory Machine portrays Durant as curious, intelligent, and occasionally friendly, but also extremely insecure — a quality that leaves him vulnerable to cyber commentary. As Strauss writes, “KD was, embarrassingly, caught defending his own honor via burner accounts on social media. He frequently lashed out at critics on Instagram. I know fans who received his wrath in their Twitter direct messages. In the locker room … he’d often be *****ing about something a random Twitter user said.”

The tendency to get bent out of shape by inconsequential tweets highlights Durant’s obsession with what the internet has to say, an obsession that undermined his relationships with teammates and the media.

Last time this topic came up a year or so ago, dudes were saying he was just going back and forth for some laughs in his spare time like a regular guy, and he didn't take it that seriously. That was never believable to me, but now there's no doubt that wasn't the case since he was bringing that stuff into the locker room.

Especially for guys that have children.

there’s this ranch in Fort Worth some billionaire owns that has a state of the art facility with lodging, weights etc. looks just like the court on 2k. Eye know if eye were a kid in the metroplex entering the draft i’d be there.

Trade wasn't vetoed. Would have ended up getting Bean vs Lebby and Bean would have had 6 or 7 of them thangs.

In some of the cities I was looking at, based on rent prices and area, I got really curious what types of runs they have in some of those buildings. I imagine real hoopers probably pick a few nights in the week and find a way to get guests in. Would definitely be nice to work in with early morning workouts.

There’s a building in DC called One Hill South where several Wizards (and Mya) live. Place basically has a full size nba regulation gym. Always pretty serious runs going on during the weekends.

the da Vinci in downtown out here is an apartment complex that has a full court indoor gym along with weights, treadmill, etc and a ton of pros and college guys use the gym and try to sneak guys in lol and I just wonder like “you are a x millionaire just build one of these for you”

Just seen that lonzo and BBB are building the gym out in chino though

Just checked it out. I never knew about that building but honestly didn’t go to that area frequently. Rent’s not bad but it depends what life you’re about. I will admit over the past few years that are has blown up as evidenced by the pro athlete residents and all the business/restaurants/attractions. I know they’ve been putting in work in the Navy Yard for a minute so glad to see it shining :hat

I think it’s just that as you start stacking more paper (whether real world or celeb/athlete) and especially as you become more famous, you become less willing to spend on certain things and expect free **** ie just getting whoever you want into the gym and getting in whenever.

Perfect example - I remember an NT’er out in Denver telling a story about Melo going to a club there, buying several bottles and when the check came out he said “I’m Carmelo Anthony. I don’t pay for these things” and walked out :lol :lol He was with LaLa at the time so she took the bill and paid but just goes to show you the mentality. wavycrocket wavycrocket might remember the story.

And I think that’s really where KD miscalculated. Probably figured he’d get some heat initially, but then things would get forgiven when they won, like what (mostly) happened with LeBron in Miami. Probably also figured that with a ring he’d close in more on Bron in the best in the game convo. But it was never going to go that way for the reasons you said.

Yes, I am continuing to armchair psycho- analyze KD because I need a break from a tedious work project, it’s Coronatime and there’s not **** else going on.

Steve Kerr said that had a good amount to do with on Simmons podcast. He gets real candid about the KD thing on there. And in a real way.

Again, a regally good listen. But dudes don’t wanna hear it :lol.

I was probably in that camp  I didn’t care to discuss stuff like that because I assumed he was re-signing and they’d continue dominating the league.

Turns out, I was wrong  Good luck to him & Kyrie
