That isn't why anyone on here is arguing that sports are in jeopardy of coming back or that this might worsen because they live in NYC/Cali/Seattle/Miami. People are arguing that because of facts based in science and medicine also known as reality. Your optimism regarding the end to a pandemic has been rooted in the dangerous speculation of non-medical professionals and your personal beliefs about how the world and professional athletes will react.

Do you not see the difference?

Dude where the **** are you even going with this. I don’t have time to go back and forth on a message board with people about this. I didn’t even bring this up, I once again got tagged in some **** and just responded. You were on here just the other day saying “welp maybe Buc Em was right about the whole people rioting and then the beaches, restaurants, etc opening right afterwards thing.” You’ll see again I was right when sports are being played before the end of 2020. This is really the end to this argument, there’s no point in any back and forth with you about this.

Speaking of Bron and the “rich get richer” why the hell did the Lakers organization take that 4. whatever million? Like seriously, even though they gave or in the process of giving it back, how time deaf do they have to be....
I don’t get it. You had to apply for this, it’s not like it was accidentally sent to them. They saw that word was eventually gonna get out that they took “bailout money” and decided to give it back.

This also fails to acknowledge issues like the one Jayson Tatum brought up back on April 6th...that two or three weeks was the longest he's gone without playing basketball because he doesn't have a hoop at the crib. A lot of players are going to rusty not just in terms of NBA conditioning but also with regard to basketball skills.
Interesting to me that Tatum doesn’t have a hoop.... obviously money is no issue so I don’t get why he wouldn’t just get one built as soon as Goburt got that ****. That type of work isn’t shut down. I’d think almost every player has a hoop unless they’re a rookie or living in nyc or something

Whenever you make a statement saying you were right, it all goes to ****. Never change

I honestly don't know how gyms come back. Sure we talk about the wiping down the equipment in the gym itself but what about the locker rooms? The benches/seating? The showers? The sinks? The lockers themselves? There are far too many points of contact that can't be wiped down effectively in-between uses. I also think that everyone who has committed to it has been successfully able to get in with their home workouts whether it be through equipment, apps, running, etc.

A lot of gyms minus whale sell all that equipment right now while it's overvalued on the secondary market
You think it’s a wrap for Planet Fitness ? I miss seeing mass at the gym.

I think dudes assumed they'd have access to the practice facilities, despite there being no games.

He finally caved though. Angle weird as well. Looks like he has a pro hoop set at like 8 feet.

No, every gym in the country is not shutting down. Stop listening to these extremists.

Few gyms around my way have already closed for good. Even a Gold's Gym. Not all gyms are the same. A lot of these dudes are operating in red.

I think you'll see a drift towards home workouts. Obviously not every gym is gonna close for good. But it will be a harder business to sustain after this.

Home workouts definitely aren’t a sufficient alternative to gyms unless you already had equipment prior to this whole virus thing lol...

I think this depends on what you're trying to do. IMO, a majority of Americans could achieve their fitness goals with minimum equipment, home workouts and a proper diet (which should be easier right now) but THEY don't want you to know that.

The proper diet is the hard part for most. Everything that’s not good for you on sale

I struggle to work out at home. I’m not even sure why. I just have a hard time finding the motivation if I don’t get up and out to the gym.
If gyms go away, I’ll have to overcome that, but I’m hoping the gym remains an option.

*Edit - also, the eye candy at the gym is a plus.

Another systemic problem that often gets swept under the rug. Argued with folks before who said "Chicken, fish, rice and vegetables aren't expensive. They settle for the $1 Menu because it tastes better. They just need better self-control" :smh: I had to immediately change the topic.

I feel you on that. People are all over the place with preferences and motivation when it comes to working out. It's an area where there's no right answer and you just have to do what works for you. I just think that from an infrastructure standpoint, it's possible for most Americans to get what they need to done at home/without a gym.

The question of whether they have the motivation and dedication is different. For me, it's been like that episode of entourage...so many times I'd tell myself I was going to hit the gym after work but throughout the day I'd catch yambs 'mirin or get compliments then think "**** the gym, my body looks good" and just skip it :lol

only people that could accomplish their fitness goals via home workouts are those they are just simply trying to lose weight.
Seems like it’d be hard to build muscle mass without strength/resistance training.

Man a damn pack of chicken thighs is $10  popeyes got a 10 pieces meal for $17. In the end, the same amount is being spent but people lazy

I know I’m Limiting myself to meat to once a week once all this is over

I have honestly anticipated no sports coming back/starting, I have resigned myself to that and wiill just binge watch 30 for 30s or some ****.
Practice facilities have been closed for a month+, and tons of these guys just live by the practice facility instead of having a court & gym in-house. So we’d need some sort of training camp & preseason over several weeks or the product is going to suffer.

No vaccine, treatment or any type of cure for it & we cannot definitively say that you’re immune after you recover.

A guy like Mike Trout just shut down the idea of only being allowed to go strictly from hotel to court then back to hotel.

Add it all up and it just doesn’t seem feasible.

I think we might see a big change overall in meat consumption habits after this is all over, driven by a number of factors.

No, you’re not gonna see everybody just do home workouts. Once the gyms open back up the gyms will be packed once again.

Yes, some gyms will not be able to financially make it through this.

No, it’s not going to be harder for gyms to sustain their business once they’re actually back open.
