Bron absolutely deserves to be **** on for performances like Game 4 in that series where he only scored 8 on 3-11 shooting. That is putrid.

This Game 6 they just showed? Not sure what else he was necessarily supposed to do. Doubled and tripled basically every time he touched the ball. Dallas wanted to take the ball out of his hands and make the others beat them. It worked.

Good defense and 3 point shooting prevailed, like it has in basically every finals this past decade.

Dirk shot a combined 15-46 (32.6%) in 2 games that the Mavs WON in the series (4 and 6).

Of everyone listed, he is the absolute last choice for me to want to build my team around.

I don't even think he should be in the discussion forreal. I don't think he really elevated his teammates to the level those others do/did. Not even close.

But I will leave it alone because I am not sure people will be morally honest with this topic due to the circumstances.

I guess I’m not concerned about stuff “eating at the team” rather than getting the W, and in the later rounds of playoffs your big gun has to be aggressive & has to convert, among other things but that’s part of the equation.

2011 for example. A guy like Bron is a tremendously gifted passer but he’s ultimately not elevating the team if he’s not getting shots up. Year before that he had a few strange games against the Celtics.

Karl Malone, 2nd most points ever but part of the reason the Jazz kept bumping their heads in May & June is sometimes he would struggle maintaining his volume. That simply did not happen with a guy like Mike.
