I don’t think anyone is discrediting pre-KD Warriors. But EVERYONE knew, once KD joined, and once he potentially left (which he did) it’s always going to be “They only won one, without KD”.

This blowback was to be expected
If it was just a rings argument that's fine. But it's more so the newly popular accusation that because Steph might not be able to take THIS team to the playoffs, he can't take ANY team to the playoffs and his whole legacy is simply a result of benefiting from those around him as opposed to them benefiting from him. Which is abject nonsense.

VC is there for his veteran guidance. He’s just showing these young guys what he knows best...

how lose games.

Kills me that wavycrocket wavycrocket has used all those same talking points to libel Bron but will have none of it if it’s directed towards Thai Curry

That old Klutch Propaganda

We literally saw this from LeBron a couple of months ago:

Like I been saying. The need to discredit Steph is very unique to him. Shoot, people don’t even believe he deserved his first mvp, and that’s the reason the whole entire reason for the new mvp vote at the end of the season we got now.

If kyrie being a moody recluse causes Brooklyn to regress, I fail to see how reporting it should be swept under the rug and filed as inconsequential. Especially because it's rinse and repeat with him.

Jackie Mac values journalistic integrity, so she wouldn't write the article if she didn't have multiple sources confirming her story. I could see if it was joesnuffy.com or something.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it's not the case. But, the nets were ascending pre kyrie...If kyrie's presence reverses that trend, it will be disappointing.

Lakers fans, I got a serious question for yall. Why you hate Steph so much?
Like yall have the most uniquely full of **** takes when it comes to Wardell Stephen Curry Jr.

Can just remove everything after the word "takes."

Come on

I'm so close to becoming a Steph truther... then Wavy had to come with that.

I don’t gotta say it for the thousandth time man :lol. It is what it is. I understand every player on that level gets, quote on quote “hate”....but this is a thing, man.

Speak truth to power either way. We can disagree. I’m always fine with that. But this nonsense and revisionist history with Steph after 2 regular season games is wild. And you know it.

Harden deserved mvp over steph that year
Outside of 2016 harden has been better than curry every season

He gets a different type of hate. He's a kid who grew up with all of the privileges of having a dad play in the NBA, but he also plays a different style of ball and is not what people think about physically when they think about the greats.

It's not like he's the most critiqued guy of this era. Not even close.

And I completely agree with you regarding revisionist history trying to discredit him based on these two games. This isn't doing anything as far as his position in the pantheon. He's still up there fighting for the number one spot with Magic.

Exhibit A lol.
Whole threads dedicated to Bron's demise, but the need to discredit Steph is unique.
C'mon man  I ain't even a hater like that, but it's absurd to put him in the same category as Bron or Kobe.
The hate for those two was on some other ****.
Wavy still my man doe lol.:smh:

Steph averaging 24 & 8 in 32mpg on a 67 win team NOBODY had as the #1 team going into the season was more impressive than what Harden did that year.....yes, Harden balled. But that whole “real mvp” **** was flute. And dudes were mad about it then. Created a damn “players mvp” and we have to wait until the end of the season now because Lil ole Steph curry won it :lol.

2014-2015 Draymond isn’t the same as 2016, 2017 and even 2017 Draymond. Same with Klay then. Same with Barnes.

And regular season wise...idk if harden was “better” than Steph after 2016. But he had a different path to victory and balled out “in the regular season”. Especially 2018 and last year.

We saw what the real was, when it came to the playoffs tho. No cut cards. You know wsup.

Ya’ll better be ready for his rant, when Steph pulls them boys up from these dark depths.

“I told ya’ll so, he just needed a few months to gel with these unfamiliar faces. That premature demise was comical, ain’t it!?!!.”

It’s a different type of hate as dacomeup dacomeup said. We, and me particularly maintain Bron & Kobe as all time greats. To me, both top 10 players (although, I think prime Steph is right there with them both of you were comparing the levels they were on while at their peak)...but resumes matter in all time rankings...and they got him beat with that for what they did, and how long they did it.

But HOW Steph is hated is unique to him. And those factors are a unique set of circumstances that really only be due to his play style, upbringing, perception, historical precedents to what players on that level are supposed to look/play like, and some colorism sprinkled in there. Thats all I maintain. I understand it comes with the territory. Nobody will take away from Bron or Kobe’s accomplishments In the way they do with Steph. We will highlight their failures tho...and the need to put them up there with Mike is wild. Especially with Bron and his Media propaganda arm forcing it...and controlling the narratives :lol.

DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican ....start the thread bruh :lol.

While I think Curry deserved the 2015 MVP, it's easy to see why people (including NBA players) deemed Harden the MVP that year. He was "carrying" lesser players that season.

Every fall the Boston sports media floods the NBA landscape with a new narrative, pushed by huge national presences like Bill Simmons and Jackie MacMullan.

Two years ago it was that Kyrie was a top level superstar who was justified in leaving Cleveland and was going to spend his whole career in Boston.

**** is tiresome yo. They push narratives so hard they convince people it’s true.

Last year it was that the Celtics were a dominant 65+ win team with one of the best rosters and the best coach in the NBA. And Jayson Tatum was a future MVP candidate.

This year it’s unnamed sources that say Kyrie is evil and ruining the Nets- from China, apparently, written by a Boston writer with anonymous sources and denied by everyone on the team. Same thing they do whenever a big athlete leaves town- coordinate in order to curry favor with the powers that be.
