going into shorter lines and thinking theyll go faster when they actually take longer than the other lines you initially planned on going to.
for example, i went to costco to get a slice of pizza and a hot dog + soda
, i went in the much shorter line thinking ill get up and out quicker. turns out the guy in the very front ordered $30 worth of food, and took a longtime getting his cash together. the person who would have been in front of me in the other lane was gone 5 minutes after i finally ordered.
other instance: merging into the supposed faster lanes, only to find out the lane you merged out of moves faster.
for example, i went to costco to get a slice of pizza and a hot dog + soda
