Dips might of started it, but i think people give 50 more credit because of how well he managed to write the songs better than the originals he was rapping on. those remixes he & G-Unit made sounds like the OG versions

Naw, I think it's because of how 50 got his deal, and then it morphed in to a deal with Em, Ja and Wanksta...so he had become the biggest new artist since Snoop.

Where as Cam was already an established artist. Without Cam doing what he was doing, 50 might not have done what he did. Back then the industry was very anti mixtape.

Both started movements, it's just that 50's was more national and on a far larger scale.
