I went to church this sunday for father day and the pastor had a lot to say on it.
He was saying that objects like the confederate flag, monuments and naming streets after confederate generals is a type of memorial. They are symbolic objects to remember the people and their ideology. So because the south lost the war doesnt mean they changed their ideology on black people as is evident up to today. So white people have to own the fact that these flags and statues are in remembrance of racist ideologies and take them down to stop normalizing the ideas the confederate states represented.
