Thread about Jesus - Questions, Bible Verses and Prayer Requests

Suit yourself.

I am not selling you
a religion
I am inviting you to know God
and have life.

You are still welcome as long as you still have breath.

I'll have breath until I die, my logic won't precede me in death. It's also in my living will.

This is just a complimentary, honest, and unoffensive tip. If you really want people to hear what you are saying, feel what you are preaching and accept your invitation, you should consider not adopting a writing pattern that drips with messianic narcissism. In reality, you typing like that makes you sound like you are preaching from a place of elevated clarity and that you think of yourself as a disciple. Atheist have enough trouble buying into the idols that are already widely accepted, let alone a two-bit preacher pontificating on a forum.

When I said the thread wasn't for me, I was being nice. I was saying that I'm obviously not the target demographic here. I think trying shoot holes into your belief system is like a vegan infiltrating a Ruth's Chris

I'm catholic and it's kind of annoying when atheists try to slam the bible with scientific facts. Like alright, the bible isn't meant to be taken literally...

The Bible is literal.

Every branch of Christianity has it's own interpretation. Atheists get too hung up on the exact wording of the bible, so they use it to try to make any sort of Christian belief illegitimate off scientific facts, it's frustrating.

I don't know if you were trying to be factual or stating your opinion here. This is from wiki...

The Catholic Church, also known as the Roman Catholic Church, is the largest Christian church
This isn't opinion thread.

If this was opinion thread

I'd be your next best friend.

I speak from the Word.

Tell me. Do you love Jesus?

Ok, then you are wrong about the Catholic church. It's the largest Christian church. Fact. You may not think of them as Christians, but they certainly do. I think trying to label what's real and genuine is a huge problem within the different religions. It's a problem I'm happy to not be a part of.

Ok, so again, what's literal and what's not? You don't have to list all, just give a couple examples

Just because a majority of people

are following doesn't mean its the truth.

The fact is if most Catholics read

straight from the Bible, and

invite Christ into their hearts,

without the need of priest interpretation

The Catholic church wouldn't have power.

Jesus already said whats up

with all these people claiming to

be men of God throughout the

New Testament.

You praise a religion that hid molestation, hates homosexuals (I think this Pope said they're cool) and a plethora of other ill things. OK. I went to catholic school from age 5-17...I wish there was a GOD to wipe that Joke of a religion away.
Use your GPS to find heaven.

God didn't know there'd be GPS since it's a man made technology. Or did he.

So is heaven in the universe? SRS question. Is it above the blackness that we've seen thru Satellites?

God's realm, which is of the Spirit.

How do you know there is no heaven, or hell?

We know there is no purgatory.
How do we know there IS a heaven, or hell?

In high school, I had "hell week" and it wasn't all fiery and below anything.

I've had sex with women and have said..."this is heaven" but it was cause she had a great body.

Yes. Very much so. I'm 16 and I can honestly tell you I love Jesus and I don't need to be intimidated by your extreme attempt at evangelization.
Trust me this isn't my extremity

this is what the Bible says.

If you love me, keep my commandments

John 14:15

O
Ok, so again, what's literal and what's not? You don't have to list all, just give a couple examples

The amount of time it took God to create the universe and the way it happened. This should not be taken literally, it's a symbolic story meant to explain things to early Hebrews.

you keep all the commandments?

I find it hard to believe.

It was a set of rules made by insecure kings to keep their slaves from boning their queens and princessess

I know because I

know God

What do you think your

school knows about hell?

No carnal pleasure comes

close to the freedom, joy and peace

that is the Holy Spirit.

The world's idea of heaven differs

greatly from what God has in store

for his followers,

but based on the sneak

peek we have I long for it.

No I don't actively go out of my way to break them.

I do fall into it unknowingly

Sooooo......

I don't even want to watch that because the ignorance in it is most likely off the charts. I think this whole thread is pointless. Let people believe what they want to believe. Nobody should feel intimidated to believe in Christ. This turns many people off from my religion and it gives it a bad name when people bully others for having different beliefs. Like what even is the point of this thread other then to give atheists more ammunition against Christians and vice versa.

Already a huge discrepancy between you and the other religious guys :lol

I assume you use logic to come to that conclusion? Science perhaps? So at what point do you throw that out the window and chalk it up to god?
