, they sold out to City Gear, but you can find sales on just about any shoes in there, not sure how much cheaper then anywhere else,

Crazy how 'Ye got the mainstream rocking timbs again. From 05-11, timbs were only worn by dusty dudes. I remember seeing 6in wheats for like $79 in the winter in '08. That Nike Boot price tag has consistently been $150

Nike Boots >>> Timbs as far as look goes. Timbs still look good though. Just something I'll leave in the past. Like air forces. Was tempted to grab some 40 belows or the BBC collab ones a few years back.

6 inch wheats when done right are FIRE though. All black "DMX" ones too

I never knew ye even rocked timbs. In my city timbs and pelles are timeless and a must have in the winter. I do miss when they were cheaper back in 09, grabbed some wheats for 80 smh. I've had timbs every winter since a kid, only had 1 pair of blue Nike boots.

Man, I used to beg my mom for Timbs all the time as a younging. She wasn't spending that type of bread on no kicks lol. She used to get me the Catepillar boots look-a-likes from Montgomery Wards or from the $29.99 tennis shoe warehouse .

Finally got my first pair of Timbs for Christmas in 99 along with a green 05 Fubu Jersey . She finally came thru for the kid. Felt like I couldn't be touched.

I thank god for having a younger cool dad. He understood what was popping in the skreets so I never had to explain why I needed every pair of jays and a pair of timbs. As long as I delivered solid grades, we were at the shoe store every Saturday.

If I ever have kids, I'll buy them those imitation boot brands until maybe they get to the 4th or 5th grade when you need to start wearing the cool brands.

Nah. I buy my girls the best and they earn it with their behavior, grades and helping around the house. I always find their stuff pretty cheap at Burlington, the outlets, etc. I'm showing them that hard work pays. If they were messing up, they would get the no name brand stuff.

You lucky man. I did find some steals at the $29.99 Shoe Warehouse though. And the outlets in Delaware had some steals too.

Luckily for me, my fam "moved on up" by the time I hit middle school....so we started getting more "name brand" clothing by the time stuff like that started to matter to kids. Hand me downs were cool too. My bro always kept his gear clean. Then he schooled me to eBay in the early 00's, and we had all the exclusive Jerseys for cheap . This is back when you had to type in "defunct" jerseys to find throwbacks. My whole swag was elevated by this. I went from rocking fake Timbs, to to being voted 2nd best dressed and 2nd most athletic by 8th grade lol.

Dudes I grew up with were ruthless sometimes though. Seen some people get the bottom of their jeans pulled up to make sure the Timbs were legit . As DG Yola once eloquently said

-"Can't even rock a jersey, they tryna peep your tag". That mentality STILL exists to this day
