Born in Baltimore, Maryland, and originally an insurance salesman, Tom Clancy went on write technically detailed espionage and military science books.

He is responsible for best-selling books such as "The Hunt for Red October," "Patriot Games," "Clear and Present Danger," and "Rainbow Six."

In 1996, Clancy co-founded the video game developer Red Storm Entertainment and has had his name on several of Red Storm's most successful games.

I remember playing Rainbow Six back in the day and thought it was the greatest thing since slice bread

Not much of a reader, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching Patriot Games and The Hunt for Red October.

Any word on the cause of his death?

RIP. I've met him in some O's corporate suits over the last several years & got to chat with him several times. Was a really smart guy. Enjoyed his books & movies. My god sons love his video games. Wow 66 is too young...

RIP.. My rich white friends in bethesda, maryland put me on this his books and games when I was young. He will be missed.
 
rainbow Six vegas is probably in my top 3 FPS. attack and defend was the ish on casino.

splinter cell i still play that ****. Not that blacklist trash though. Never played a rainbow six game lol might try vegas

R.I.P....Spliter Cell the book got me through one the lowest points in my life
 
Had to read "The hunt for Red October" for a class a couple years back. Dope book. Also enjoyed a lot of the video games he endorsed like Splinter Cell. RIP
