I gotta give props to all the producers on this album. Easily one of my favorite albums this year production wise.

I do find it funny Travis barely had anything to do with it though. He's not a good rapper, doesn't really produce much either so what exactly is his talent?

Sonically I find it a good album but I feel it would've been just as good if not better if Travis' parts were replaced with verses from whatever rapper he's biting at the time.

Dude been doing this since Owl Pharaohs, he's essentially a modern day type of Dr. Dre/Yeezy. If you seen the clip of him and Metro making Skyfall that's basically his involvement in production.

It's funny you say that cuz I would rather him replace the singers he was mimicking with actually good singers.

It was cool off of the first spin, but it gave me the feeling that a stronger album could've been built from the other songs still on his computer.

The "Man on the Moon" inspired narrations also made me feel like this could've been a much stronger album in terms of actual cohesion and theme. This could've been his Man on the Moon, and cemented him.

Nothing wrong with him not taking this route, but I can't help but feel like he could've made his debut album a more special occasion, like that album was.

I always thought he could do beats too but he does like Diddy do. And like someone previous said like Kanye do now.

That beat on "Maria I'm Drunk" sounding like the beat that could have been Mike Myers killing song. Fire!

I think it's safe to take Owl Pharaoh and DBR out of the thread title now, lol..

Yea updated title/OP and added a poll. just gon update the original posts on the first page. I don't use this account often

I have a hard time believing Travis didn't executive produce this album. Alot of the tracks morph into elaborateb beat varations, and that is what I liked so much about yeezus.

More like Mike Dean

I'm halfway thru this and the rapping is so-so (not surprising), the production is crazy tho :pimp:

him and mike co produced the whole album laflame takes a beat and tweaks the hell out of it he can produce but if he chooses not to doesnt mean he cant

and who is dude trying to mimic  the album sounds like nothing else right now

He mimics other rappers on damn near every other song.

Rap game ditto

The album doesn't sound like anything else right now because of the production.

Biting cudi with the narration

Biting Drake on Dis Side

Biting Swae Lee extra hard on Antidote

Biting Chief Keef and Swae Lee on Night Call

Kanye on Apple Pie

Those were the most obvious to me.

The only real "Travis" sound that I would specifically attribute to him is songs like Pornography. On most songs with features he just reminds me so much of other rappers to the point it bothers me.

All i wanted out of this album was bangers. Days Before Rodeo was better to me.

Travis can't rap i knew this going in. So all i wanted was some good work out songs. Its solid but i wanted more.
