CounterKicks Counterfeits: Air Jordan 2010 BP Custom Colorways

air_jordan_2010_bp_counterkicks.jpg

Just a short one month ago, Counter Kicks wondered simply what NBA Player Edition colorways would looklike in the then just-unveiled Air Jordan 2010. We enlisted the help of photoshop colorist extraordinaire Cody Harris a.k.a. "BP" (see: NikeTalk Showcase) to give us and our readers glimpses into potential special make-up style AJ2010's which we exhibited here and here. Less than 30-days later, counterfeit producers hadalready ripped, manufactured, and distributed for sale all of the original Air Jordan 2010 photoshopped colorways we commissioned BP to do. "It'sflattering, yet disappointing at the same time," says Harris. "I wish I could have just one pair of everything that has been ripped. They would begood show pieces in a portfolio, or even nice just to have." We'll keep you posted if any other forged BP styles crop up. Continue reading for thecomplete photo set of manufactured BP Custom Colorway Air Jordan 2010's.

A porthole window..are you kidding me JB?

my first impression was still

, although they def. look alot better than that initial image we saw of a black/cement c/w. one thing about jb, they always dosuch a great job of tying in the story and inspiration behind the design of the new sig shoe. it kinda makes u "feel" the design more. i must say, itlooks like they tried to make it resemble a designer sneaker, kinda like a prada/gucci hybrid, if u can understand what i mean, especially shape anddesign-wise. which makes sense on some levels, i guess, considering the current high end fashion footwear trend. it looks like u may be able to get into a clubwearing these that u would not be able to get into wearing retros to, for instance. at the end of the day tho, this is supposed to be a basketball shoe and ithonestly looks like anything but.

there are some things i like about the shoe. i think it has the potential to do much better than the 2009, which as we all know was a complete disaster and thepoorest performing sig jordan to date sales-wise. i'm guessing the price will be around $180, which is obviously not in jb's favor especiallyconsidering the ever-looming recession and there is no new groundbreaking technology of note. that means the only things the 2010 has to fall back on arematerials (doesn't look too impressive save for the "windows," which are kinda cool, but also pretty gimmicky), comfort and on-court performance.so as always we will have to wait and see

Im sorry Tink but that shoe will not be remembered in 25yrs. theres nothing special about it..at all. It's actually down right ugly and does not look orsound like it will perform as well as youre trying to say it will..not buying any of this...but thanks for the vid Steez.

The shoe is

but they did talk up the shoe pretty well which kinda made me think theyre alright

but still a pass....

Its not even the fact that there is a transparent window on both sides that bothers me, its just that they are giant circles.

It just doesn't look right to me. Looks out of place I guess.
