In his defense, he may be figuring that Steph is going to voluntarily sit out because he doesn't want to take any chances with his knee.

You are correct sir. For some reason I think Steph will sit out. Maybe even Klay.

I wonder if Draymond will be on the team? Dude is a beast.

You must not watch FIBA basketball. Completely different then the NBA in terms of lineups and strategies. I seen 3 guards sets before with Coach K. Hell go watch the last WC of basketball.

Stephen Curry pulls out of 2016 Olympics in Brazil. He may not be alone || http://bayareane.ws/1Y3nCC7 ||

Had a feeling about this. Going to be looking at the Dame Lillard show at PG, I think.

So now starting line up is Westbrook-Harden-Kawhi-KD-Drummond/boogie/a center?

^^^ You never know. maybe Klay will sit out as well. 3 straight summers dude has been balling 8o

The twelve that will go IMO

DAME
PG13
HARDEN
BOOGIE
WALL
THE CLAW
RUSS
DURANT
GREEN
ALDRIDGE
DRUMMOND
DEROZAN

I wonder how many players are opting out because of stuff like the Zika virus. There seems to be a decent amount of athletes and journalists who don't want to travel to Brazil because of the health risk.

Probably a part of it. The other is that USA is back on top so it might not seen as much as an honor as it has been the past 8 years. The challenge really isn't there

Not to mention guys are becoming more aware of the wear and tear

Pretty sure Wall & LMA have pulled out already.

I'm thinking:
Westbrook/Dame
Harden/Klay
George/Leonard/Butler
Durant/Green
Boogie/Drummond

11th spot goes to Drummond cuz we need another big.
12 spot goes to Lebron or Melo if they want it. If they both wanna come, take Butler off and put Bron & Melo in. If Bron & Melo both pass, you probably pick between DDR or Love for the 12th spot.

Don't forget about Olympic Melo. Olympic Melo is a beast :smoking

Westbrook/Dame
Klay/Butler/Harden
KD/Kawhi/George
Melo/Green
Boogie/Drummond

Olympic Melo is one of the few crutches NBA Melo has left to stand on.

TBH, if I was one of the more veteran guys, with a family and who already has a Gold, the Zika virus risk would be enough to make me not go to Brazil. Don't expect many of them to admit straight out that's why they're not going, but I wouldn't blame them if that is the reason.

I'm curious to see if athletes in other sports start dropping out of these Olympics.

Real talk. If I'm one of the veteran guys and I already have a gold medal, I'm sitting this one out.

So far, Chris Paul, Steph Curry, Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, Anthony Davis, and John Wall officially opted out. Melo, LeBron, and Westbrook are considering opting out too apparently.

Basketball might be a little more competitive in the Olympics this year. The ratings will plummet though. :lol

Yeah, I'd stay away because of the zika virus. Olympic Village in Rio might be the best yambs party of all time though. Mix in some local Brasilian groupies / thots and it's lit.

Like I said earlier in the thread:

Yeah, man, it's going to be 2004/1988 again.

Shiny bronzes.

And I said in 2004: I was not a huge Iverson fan, but as people started dropping out left and right, I gave major props to him for his stay on the team, and also for the way he played.

I bought tickets to watch their exhibition vs CHINA here at Staples Center. Hopefully not all the big names take their names out.
