That's because there are no TV timeouts, and timeouts called by players and coaches are only one minute. It helps with the flow of the game, except the refs often negate that by blowing the whistle every 20 seconds.

He did lose a little bit but man he took off from so far and still had his forearm over the rim by the time he dunked it!
