the satellite tv during the rain thing is so exaggerated. had dtv and rarely had any problems. even during rain and wind storms

If you're a sports fan, get DirecTV.

Otherwise, go with FiOS.

Be careful when you order Fios over the phone. Their salesmen are shady and good luck trying to get your bill fixed
Make sure you get everything in writing before you agree to say yes

I think both of those companies lock you into a long contract.

It's cool for the first year or so until all the promotions expire and you're stuck paying a price that is way too high.
