Just tried this out, and it's a big improvement over the current YouTube app. Available now in the market. Source-pocketnow.com:

A new, updated and stand-alone version of the YouTube application for Android is now available to download for free from the Android Market with lots of new features that will make your on-device YouTube experience even better.

The application comes with a completely revamped user interface that will allow in-page video viewing so that you can both read the comments and enjoy the streaming content. Also, portrait orientation has been added with accelerometer support for both orientation watching and the player controls have been revamped as well. All these features will bring the mobile experience on Android closer to the one you're getting while browsing YouTube from your Computer.

Before you jump to the download (we know you want it), make sure you are running Android 2.2 Froyo since the new YouTube app will only work from this platform version up.
Winamp comes to Android, one of our childhood dreams is realized
By Joseph L. Flatley posted Oct 21st 2010 9:43AM

Here's a blast from the past: Winamp, that mainstay media player of college dorms and LAN parties since time immemorial (er, 1997 or so) has made the leap from PC to handset with the release of Winamp for Android. This bad boy is available for Android 2.1 and up, and features a playback widget for the Android desktop and Last.fm integration. But that ain't all! If you install Winamp 5.59 beta on your PC, you can sync and manage your libraries via USB or WiFI. Pretty sweet! We only have one questions, really: will it still whip the llama's *++? Check out the QR code after the break (or search the Android Market) for the mobile app. Winamp 5.59 beta is available in the Winamp forums (More Coverage link, below).

[Thanks, Samat]

I'm scared to install that new youtube app cuz I've been reading that it's been freezing phones.

*edit*

I installed but I un-installed asap.  It froze my g2 when I left the app.  Smh.  I had to take out the battery to reboot.  Hassle too cuz I got the body glove case on.
