so I've had this HTC Hero for a week and a day and it's already broken and needs to be replaced. buuuuunk. anybody know if these have a lot of problems to where they have to be replaced often? I'm not looking forward to reinstalling all of my aps and losing all of my messages every few months.

I used cy`s ROM`s on the G1 and loved it....Only problem i have with his roms on the evo is that they dont have 4G and no FM radio.(which i use at work when listening to the radio or pandora and slacker radio)  Its taking a LONG time for them to get this done, no clue why.

Yea, the new HTC kernel is pretty good....But i use Kingkernel CFS #8 .....battery is STOOPID long, i had it 100% charged and literally had the Mario brothers wallpaper, music playing, brightness turned up to 100% and didnt let the phone sleep just to see how long it would last......i went to sleep around 1 am, woke up around 7:15 and it was still on, it finally ran out around 8am when i took my son to school. (i did this so i could calibrate my battery, along with seeing how long it would last)

pac link me to that kernal....what rom are you using, I'm using that fresh rom you gave what do I have to do to use the rom you are using
Yea, seriously that is the only downside. Not having 4g is a pain especially since i like to tether to my laptop and 3g is just really slow when trying to watch videos. I never used the Fm radio so i dont have any problems with losing that.

still no simple way of taking a snapshot of your homescreen for the N1 without all that rooting and stuff?

My bad bruh, i forgot all about the link when i got home

This is the link to the ROM im using now....NO-SENSE (stock android froyo build) ...it will change your Kernel also, but when you flash this, you can flash kingkerner right behing it. (without booting into the new rom if you are using clockwork recovery, i dont know if you can do it using amon RA)
