here's the payroll for the 2010-11 season...

Washington Wizards: $41.02 million in 2010-11 payroll
It's a safe bet that they'll decline the team option on Josh Howard's $11.84 million. If we project that Quinton Ross exercises his $1.15 million player option and the Wizards hang onto their high draft pick (let's project it as the No. 4 overall pick) and Cleveland's late first-rounder, they'd be committed to roughly $33 million for eight bodies. Do they extend a $4.8 million qualifying offer to guard Randy Foye? If they do, that brings them up to approximately $38 million, maybe enough wiggle room to offer a max contract. Without Foye, they've got plenty to offer a max player.

but it's not all peachy....

I have not been more excited for a offseason/season since we had the Kwame Brown pick. And yes I'm being dead serious

I'd love to have Shaun Livingston around too next year. I have a feeling the Lakers are going to snatch him away tho.

Nah, John Wall is probably my fav NCAA player I've ever seen...nothing more, nothing less.  CAVS are my main NBA squad till I die.

Any chance they start shopping Gil, now that they have the #1 pick? If they weren't planning to do so in the first place.

It's the mystique/stigma of having the #1 overall...but Wall is the consensus #1 overall, and won't be a failure like Kwame.  This is HUGE!

Bandwagon? Nah...But come on, no offseason thread until after the lottery, and ONLY after you get the #1 pick?

lulz at the Cleveland shots.

I hope DC comes back, been depressing to watch since that crab dribble nonsense.

I can't believe you dummies are coming in here with this cynical BS questioning why there's now an offseason thread. Everyone in here has been down with the Bullets/Wizards from the jump. Just because there's a thread now, doesn't mean folks aren't any less of fans....anyways....There was no buzz/excitement about the team when the season ended. The franchise was in disarray. Wall is EXACTLY what the team/city needs to get interest back in Wizards basketball.

I agree with re-signing Livingston. Dude proved himself to be more than worthy of getting quality PT. But I think a lot of teams are going to be after him, and I would think that he would like to start somewhere.

I'd also like to keep James Singleton around. Sign him to a modest 3 year deal. Dude played great ball for the wizards and brought energy, toughness, and defense to the lineup. He was also a good mentor to Blatche.
