I haven't read the article.  In fact, this journal isn't even subscribed to by major academic institutions(!).  Moreover, the article is, according to the journal's homepage, currently under review and has not yet been vetted by peers.  Taken together, it seems A) extremely premature to go on media blitzes when the article has not yet been reviewed and B) raises the inescapable question as to why, if this is in fact as important as it purports to be, was it not published in a more credible and widely accepted journal - Science, Nature, PNAS, etc. 

I think this is especially important considering that all of NASA's most recent mainstream media invitations have COMPLETELY blown up in their face after the scientific community read the papers and laughed them out of town.  I'm sure the average mouth-breather doesn't care about anything after the initial soundbite, but this guy is putting NASA's already damaged scientific credibility on the line.  

Now you can all go back to worrying about ET and how you'll welcome your new overlords.
