After listening to a Double Toasted interview of C. Robert Cargill (writer for the Dr. Strange movie) Fiege is VERY hands on and I'd put money on it that Pascal was trying to force Marvel's hand there. She knows what she's doing. You KNOW they either want in (more) or full control back now that Marvel is about to make Spidey more popular than ever. She probably wanted Fiege to meltdown on or off camera. He's not falling for it.

Pascals just confused, just a few months ago she was saying after a sequel that Sony might leave the partnership...

“One of the things that I think is so amazing about this experience is that you don't have studios deciding to work together to make a film very often.

“In fact, it may never happen again--after we do the sequel.

“Because Sony and Disney and Marvel all decided that the right thing to do was to allow Peter Parker and Spider-Man to be in the MCU, and to work with the Marvel guys and have them produce this film, and I think that was a very rare thing for three companies to do and a very brilliant thing for them to decide to do because there are only so many stories that you know you can tell again and again and again about Spidey, and this is something that we would never been able to do in any other way. So, it was a very selfless thing that was very smart on the part of all the companies.”

but I think she's just trying to promote Homecoming because interest for the charaters are all tied into Spidey being in the MCU.

Then again she doesn't seem to think there's enough stories to tell without MCUs involvement like Spidey never had a long standing book (and more than one in most cases) dedicated to him all this time

I'm just waiting for the eventual press release from Marvel Studios that says the Sony films are not apart of the MCU continuity. Feige's facial expressions say everything.
