The savage land might be owned by FOX though.
but just how serious is the movie? It's so serious, so dark, that Marvel decided to hire a comedy director to bring a touch of lightness to the proceedings.
This hasn't been said about a Marvel movie before, so I'll give it a shot. I mean, the story is about Ragnarok and I believe it's not going to have a lot of Earth scenes, so I can't picture them just joking it up like IM3. Not for this. They know this franchise is struggling somewhat, so they need to step it up and deliver. Which I think they will. I believe they're gonna get this one right. So then this rumor is meaningless drivel
What it the title should read is "Marvel once again is going to deliver a lighthearted movie loads of snappy jokes by any means"
Thanks posting the story tho. Im not directing my comments at you but marvel itself.
The Russos directed comedies. They turned out to be a great addition.Hiring a comedy writer sounds so stupid. Just let it be serious, the world doesn't need more cheesey jokes. Kat Dennings did bring a few laughs in the first one though.
If it's about Ragnarok, I want it to be depressing like the movie The Road. Maybe even have Thor get a bad haircut at the barber and have his day ruined.
Looks like Ragnarok is shaping up to be about as terrible as everyone expects it to be
The MCU was Thor's chance to shine his coolest moments were in the Avengers movies
Can't wait to watch the Adventures of Natalie Portman and her wisecracking Interns in space
Oh then maybe that smaller Marvel event Feige had I think in LA to show some trailers and announce all the movies for phase 3.that's every two years. Ultimate comics has no bearing on the film rights. That started in like 2000. That's just like a cool idea the writers used to make use of the Marvel universe.Probably some time next year at the next Disney expo thingy.

Savagae Land was Magneto/Xavier's mutant paradise in Ultimate so it's definitely Fox
Ultimate X-Men was a classic
Have any of the Thor movies been lighthearted with snappy jokes?but just how serious is the movie? It's so serious, so dark, that Marvel decided to hire a comedy director to bring a touch of lightness to the proceedings.

I wish they'd have the balls to just bring in a "Maker" and just destroy Asgard and strand Thor on Earth with limited access to the other realms, a few warrior friends, and a couple trinkets.
THOR: RAGNAROK Has Marvel’s Darkest Script Yet
You can tell from the title that **** hits the fan in Thor: Raganrok, but just how serious is the movie? It's so serious, so dark, that Marvel decided to hire a comedy director to bring a touch of lightness to the proceedings. Yes, Taika Waititi was hired to balance out the grimness of the script and bring it tonally a little closer to what Marvel fans have come to expect.
That's what sources deep inside Disney are whispering to me, anyway. Waititi may yet be joined by another writer to help brighten the corners of Ragnarok while maintaining writer Christopher Yost's apocalyptic vibe. One way that may happen is to up the humor between Thor and Hulk, who I have been led to believe will be not only appearing in the movie but will be playing a major role. The two heroes will be taking a cosmic road trip together, Hope and Crosby style.
Along the way they're going to meet Valkyries, as you might expect from a story about the Norse end of the world, but my source tells me that besides the Valkyries (generic) the film might launch Marvel superheroine Valkyrie into the Cinematic Universe. First introduced in the pages of The Avengers, Valkryie, aka Brunnhilde, was a longtime member of The Defenders, hung out with Doctor Strange and had Norse goddess The Enchantress as her enemy. In fact it was an Enchantress story that introduced Valkyrie in the comics - could this mean we'll see The Enchantress finally make it to the screen? I'm not entirely clear on how Valkyrie is being used - it could be in the group of Norse mythological beings who bring the gods to Valhalla after they die or it could be as the standalone superheroine. This part is a little muddled, and I'm trying to get further clarity from other sources - it's hard out there because all of my Marvel sources have clammed up after the regime change. All I know for sure is that Marvel thinks they're going to cast some great women in this movie.
Keep Valkyrie in mind as you hear rumors about women meeting with Marvel. If the superheroine is joining the MCU (and you have to think it's a good idea), the studio will be meeting with many powerful women who could also play Captain Marvel. It's going to be an interesting rumor season leading up to Thor: Ragnarok.

I expect Vol. 2 to be way better than the first one. Somethings were done safe just cuz but now I feel we can get a better feel for the story Gunn is telling with these characters."Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn spoke about the sequel's filming location, touched on "Avengers: Infinity War," weighed in on "Captain Marvel" casting and more during a fan Q&A session on Facebook.
"We can expect something a little bit in the vein of the first movie and also different," he said of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," revealing he had just moved to Atlanta to shoot the film. "I'm going to be here in Atlanta for nearly ten months." The film will begin shooting in February and has almost wrapped casting.
He also mentioned that another character will join the Guardians in the sequel, saying, "I'm not going to give names and I'm won't give numbers either, but there will be at least one new character in 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'" What's more, "Nebula is an important character" in the film.
Nebula won't be the only returning character. "I love Stan Lee. He's a great man. He's one of my favorite people in the world. I still get giddy like a school girl whenever I'm around him, and he's also nice to me, so why would I not want him in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?'"
When asked if we'll see Adam Warlock in the upcoming film, he responded, "You guys gotta wait and see... Everything's going to be different in the 'Infinity Wars.' I'm a lot more concerned with 'Vol. 2' than I am with 'Infinity Wars.' The way the movie ['Vol. 2'] is structured and made – it really is a story unto itself. It's not about leading up to anything else. It's about the Guardians and their lives."
As to whether or not the "Guardians" series will continue past "Vol. 2," he explained, "Probably! If the second one does well. You guys will have to go see the second one." Further, he added, "There's a lot of other Marvel cosmic properties that I'd be interested in helping usher to the screen. I talk about it a lot but, if I said too much here, Marvel might track me down and shoot me."
"As long as I'm working with Marvel, I'll probably be working on 'Guardians' and 'Guardians'-related projects," he said.
He also offered a few minor details about the film, including, "There will be no other humans – humans being earthlings -- besides Quill," "Drax is not the biggest fan of Baby Groot" and "[Rocket] is young. I guess he'd probably be in his late 20s if he was a human."
Though he hasn't seen the film, he offered an opinion on the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War," sharing, "I kind of get the registration of superheroes, so maybe Tony Stark... I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know their positions. In the comics, I understood Iron Man's point of view."
He also weighed in on "Captain Marvel" casting. "I don't have a dog in that race, so I don't know who I want to play Captain Marvel," he explained. "There's a lot of good people that were brought up. There's one person I think is great, but I'm not sure if she's going to get it or not."
Directed by Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" opens on May 5, 2017.
The point was to say stop jumping to conclusions. Everybody bashed the Russos and ended up loving the film. This guy could have the same effect. We don't have to be optimistic about it because of the previous two movies, but I mean damn. What does that have to do with writing? The screenplay was written by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus. Im confused as to how those things are connected
NT stay giving writers too little credit for the finished product and directors too much credit for the script.
70s and 80s pop music >>>> this modern trash (except for tswift) tbhThink they're going to keep using 70's 's songs for vol 2?
I hope not. I think they already played every song I'd like from that decade
