Marvel's 75th anniversary cover....released this year. Everyone on the cover are properties that Marvel is promoting heavily with films or future films. You see black bolt (eww) you see Ms. Marvel, you see groot, rocket, quill. People who normally aren't on marvel group ensembles over Wolverine, the fantastic four....but who's front and center...

Spiderman is one of the most popular Marvel characters, movies or not. Would be surprised if he wasn't front and center.
The FF and the X-men are fox studios characters, their absence on the cover probably says more about Marvel's relationship with Fox right now than anything.
Spidey's inclusion on the cover signifies sony's healthy relationship with Marvel, hardly evidence Spidey is joining the Avengers on the big screen.

Marvel has made special covers for them as well. They wouldn't neglect their properties for their anniversary.

Appologize for being on mobile but all these pics are to celebrate Marvel's 75th anniversary. Everyone or anyone could've been on that main photo of their 75th anniversary but each character they picked for the main photo was strategically picked AND placed. Something is cooking with spiderman and Marvel's films. That combined with oscorp tower almost being in avengers combined with these rumors that civil war maybe brewing in Marvel's cinematic universe and.....yeah. It's gonna happen. I'm convinced.

Two ASM movies have released with no mention of Tony Stark, no hint at shield, no mention of the invasion of new York.. If the plan all along was to bring Spidey into the marvel cinematic universe, it'd be poorly executed.

Not really. Tho it would be nice to have him. Especially since Marvel doesnt do secret Identities. It would be a cool way to explain why his identity isnt secret in this universe.

If that's the case why even connect the movies and tv shows with Easter eggs, end credit scenes, and appearances from other characters in the MCU?

Soooo.....we're gonna act like Sony and Marvel/Disney didn't want to have The Oscorp building in Avengers but post production was already underway or that Sony said they were working very close with Marvel for future Spiderman films and expanding his universe on the big screen...

Spiderman is Marvel's main character. He's welcomed in whatever capacity. Like I've been told a million times, they're not trying to please comic fans, they just want their money. Spiderman = HUGE $

Spidey will not increase the renue of the Avengers. Anyone seeing the Spidey is watching the Avengers without a doubt. This is a deal that only benefits Sony. Marvel should crutch Sony for the 8 people who are watching spidey and not Avengers, whose sequel is in the top 5 most anticipated movies of all time?

so we're gonna act like Spiderman isn't Marvel's flagship character and that his name isn't bigger than any other superhero affiliated with Avengers. He's bigger than Captain America, bigger than iron man bigger than Hulk... So tell me why he isn't the most requested character to appear with the Avengers and why his appearance wouldn't triple the earnings of an Avengers film.....................

Spider-Man is Marvel Comics biggest character. Makes total sense he'd be front and center. Marvel Comics owns Spidey and can still do w/e they want with him. Has nothing to do with the movies. The art is for the 75th year anniversary of Marvel comics. Has nothing to do with the studio.
So you gonna act like SONY didn't sign away all of the Spidey rights (animated, merch, etc.) that aren't the movies to Marvel so that they could basically keep the film rights forever?

If anything sounds like they're reassuring fans so that they don't get anywhere near the debacle that might be the Fantastic Four since they're not working closely at all with Marvel. As it stands now the current incarnation of the Marvel cinematic universe can't mesh with SONY's Spidey world in the least. There'd need to be a reboot on both sides and there won't cuz dudes are planning movies well in to 2020. At best you might get a crossover the way one universe of heroes meets another and right now that's still a stretch.

Marvels best selling monthly release is ASM (Tho Rocket Raccoon sold 300k in July I am not sure how long that will last). ASM usually sells just short of Scott Snyder's Batman. In contrast, Marvel's highest grossing movies are IM and Avengers. Avengers popularity in the comic world is pretty recent and still aint doing nowhere near ASM numbers.
Here are the July numbers. Besides RR, Spidey 2099, and all the new issue number 1s, it's pretty representative of what you will normally find.

Please Spidey would help a ton even though they don't need him. Having Spidey actions scenes alone> any other comic book hero. Imagine him fighting with the avengers in the first movie dropping them goons with webs and acrobatic moves.

Zik, I urge you to look at that 75th anniversary pic in depth. That is the main picture. Look at the characters on the picture, these are characters that Marvel has planned films around. If the picture was based SOLELY on popularity black bolts wack *** wouldn't be there, Falcon, Ms. Marvel, Groot, rocket, star-lord over Wolverine, cyclops, the thing. But they are and the characters on there are all involved in a Marvel Cinematic Universe project right? Iron fist, check. Black bolt, check. Avengers, check. Ms. Marvel if you've read avengers 2 rumors check. So I ask you where does Spiderman fit in? ....
As for the oscorp tower appearance I thought it would've been great. And if these early rumblings of a civil war (which I've been clamoring for since forever) are true then like you know civil war along with the rest of the Marvel universe can't really happen without spiderman. The reason ASM and ASM 2 hasn't made "huge" money is because of viewers still being obsessed with the Raimi version and feeling like the same story is being rehashed but both ASM and ASM2 have made 700 mil world wide each. That is still a successful film franchise but still a little shy of the money the first spiderman films were taking in. All I'm saying is that Sony and Marvel have a good relationship. They were already one step away from having Avengers and ASM in the same universe. Both studios are working with each other for Spiderman expanded movie universe (can't find the quote but someone has to know what I'm speaking of) marvel even canceled EMH to make a new Avengers cartoon just so it can take place in the same world as The ultimate Spiderman cartoon. He's an honorary Avenger in that show. He's met the guardians about twice in that show and I think there's an episode with the inhumans coming up soon.......this isn't a coincidence. In the least....

Regardless if we're talking comic Spiderman is Marvel's biggest superhero and the center of Marvel comics. For him to not be even referenced or appear in Marvels biggest film about their characters forming an ensemble team that spiderman has even been apart of throughout the years seems odd. If you've read the A2 rumors of how Ms. Marvel is suppose to come into play then Spider-man's appearance seems like a possibility
